You’ll support our strategic direction by engaging with the data engineering community to deliver opportunities, along with carrying out complex data engineering tasks to build a scalable data architecture.\nYour responsibilities will also include:\nBuilding advanced automation of data engineering pipelines through removal of manual stages\nEmbedding new data techniques into our business through role modelling, training, and experiment design oversight\nDelivering a clear understanding of data platform costs to meet your departments cost saving and income targets\nSourcing new data using the most appropriate tooling for the situation\nDeveloping solutions for streaming data ingestion and transformations in line with our streaming strategy\nThe skills you'll need\nTo thrive in this role, you’ll need an extensive experience in AWS cloud platforms, FinOps, and Terraform to lead the design, deployment, and management of secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data infrastructure supporting our data lakehouse environment like AWS EMR, Snowflake, Airflow etc.\nYou'll also have proven AWS and Snowflake expertise with hands-on Terraform experience, strong understanding of FinOps and cloud cost governanceand knowledge of cloud security principles and data orchestration with proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.\nAdditionally, you’ll need:\nLead development and optimisation of data pipelines and infrastructure using AWS services (EMR, S3, Glue, Lambda)\nOwn Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to automate cloud resource provisioning and ensure consistent deployments\nDrive FinOps best practices to monitor and optimise cloud costs while maintaining security\nDefine and enforce security standards across data environments, ensuring compliance and robust data protection\nProvide technical leadership and collaborate across teams to integrate security and cost-efficiency into workflows\nOversee Airflow workflow architecture and performance and collaborate on CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure deployments\nLead troubleshooting, incident response and continuous improvement initiatives\nHours\n45 Job Posting Closing
