Nauchsoft, an international software development and IT consulting company, is looking for a full-time Lead Automation QA Engineer. We have been in the IT business for 37 years and continue growing.

We are looking for an experienced Lead AQA Engineer to join a long-term enterprise project for a company operating in the telecommunications and digital services domain.

The platform serves millions of users and includes a complex ecosystem of web, mobile, backend, and integration services. The solution has been actively developed for several years and continues to evolve through new functionality, infrastructure improvements, integrations, and further QA automation.

The key goal of this role is to define and drive the test automation strategy, strengthen the AQA function, and introduce modern AI-assisted automation practices while remaining actively involved in hands-on engineering.

The team works from 11:00 to 20:00 (GMT+3).

Technical Environment

Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve the test automation strategy.
  • Lead the development and evolution of the automation framework based on Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Establish automation standards and engineering best practices.
  • Estimate, prioritize, and distribute tasks within the AQA team.
  • Monitor execution and quality of automation activities.
  • Make and defend technical decisions with the team and customer.
  • Participate in hands-on automation development, including writing and maintaining automated tests.
  • Prepare test data and improve automation coverage and reliability.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD processes.
  • Introduce and apply AI-powered practices to accelerate test development, debugging, analysis, and maintenance.
  • Mentor AQA engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with QA, developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Strong practical experience as a Lead AQA Engineer or Senior AQA Engineer with technical leadership responsibilities
  • Proven experience building or significantly evolving a test automation process from scratch.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of test automation architecture and framework design.
  • Experience with API and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to estimate, plan, distribute, and control automation activities.
  • Strong code review and technical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to combine leadership with hands-on engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working directly with customer stakeholders.
  • AI fluency is mandatory - practical experience using tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar in daily automation activities.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven mindset and ability to drive technical improvements.
  • English level B2+ or higher for regular communication with the US customer.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WireMock or similar tools.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AWS / EKS.
  • Experience with Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Understanding of PHP-based applications.
  • Experience with microservice-based systems and complex integrations.
