They will develop creative solutions to support boat production.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPerforms research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.\nPrepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.\nDesigns, develops, tests, and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.\nPerforms product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.\nRepresents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.\nAccomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.\nSkills and Abilities for Success in this Position:\nStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization.\nExcellent organization and project management skills.\nStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.\nAbility to juggle and manage competing tasks and demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.\nAbility to make sound judgments and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines and make decisions within functional areas of responsibility with minimal direct supervision.\nStrategic mindset with solid technical and analytical ability.\nRequirements\nKnowledge, Education, and/or Experience preferred:\nExperience in the marine industry.\nWatersports and/or boating experience.\nAbility to trailer a boat.\nDesire to work in a “hands-on” environment.\nEssential:\nMust be available for 20 hours per week Monday - Thursday between the hours of 7 AM to 4:00 PM for at least 2 semesters.\nUnderstanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques and Quality Control processes\nStrong problem analysis and problem resolution\nMust be a well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.\nStrong mathematical and analytical skills\nAn intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.\nIntermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel\nPhysical Demands\nMust be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.\nMust be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.\nMust be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.\nThis is a safety-sensitive position.\nAmericans with Disability Specifications\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
