To learn more visit www.nautique.com.\nEngineering Intern will ensure accurate component specification in the design and development of products with the supervision of the Senior Product Engineer and any other duties that would be assigned. This position will focus on various tasks, including developing jigs and fixtures required for the successful integration of products into production, BOM collection on new builds, modeling of simple and complex parts, and creating work instructions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDefine and design component specifications for mechanical systems from design through manufacturing completion.\nDevelop jigs and fixtures required to locate, install, or support components in production accurately and repeatably. Depending on the project's needs, this can include small or large fiberglass parts, machined metal components, upholstery substrates, and various other components.\nGenerate engineering models, drawings, and Bills of Material for new designs.\nApprove mechanical models and drawings for release.\nGenerate engineering change notices as required.\nEvaluate and advise on the impact of new products, programs, and strategies.\nEnsure and acquire component and system compliance with industry standards.\nEvaluate vendor-supplied items for their suitability regarding fit, finish, and performance for Nautique products.\nCertification of products to include USCG and NMMA standards.\nSupervision of compliance testing, whether completed in-house an outside contractor.\nRequirements\nSkills and abilities for success in this position:\nStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization\nExcellent organization and project management skills\nStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills\nAbility to juggle and manage competing tasks and demands and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events\nAbility to make sound judgments and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines and make decisions within functional areas of responsibility with minimal direct supervision\nKnowledge, Education, and/or Experience required:\nBS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field\n3D CAD Modeling experience, preferably SolidWorks\n1-2 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment\nAbility to manage own work without direct supervision\nExcellent organization and project management skills\nStrategic mindset with solid technical and analytical ability\nMust have a valid driver's license (subject to MVR)\nKnowledge, Education, and/or Experience preferred:\nExperience in the marine industry\nWatersports and/or boating experience\nAbility to trailer a boat\nDesire to work in a “hands-on” environment\nPhysical Demand:\nMust be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.\nMust be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.\nMust be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.\nThis is a safety-sensitive position.\nAmericans with Disability Specifications\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
