Ensures the manufacturing engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively across two facilities. They are responsible for production support and systems to aid in the manufacturing process and shift bottlenecks. Reviews, evaluates and implements process changes and leads continuous improvement initiatives. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer Manager manages a team of engineers and technical professionals in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met as well as supporting strategic goals. Reports to the VP of Operations.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLed a team of industrial, mechanical, chemical, and CAD engineers to design, implement, and continuously improve the manufacturing process to ensure products and processes meet customer needs.\nLead with a lean manufacturing system approach while improving lean culture on the manufacturing floor.\nPerforms product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.\nManages capacity models focused on standard work methods to adequately plan for equipment, floor space, and headcount\nSupports production departments and prioritizes projects based on business needs\nSupports other business functions with production-related information (Capacity models, labor BOM, ROI, COPQ…)\nRepresent manufacturing engineering on cross-functional teams\nWork with the product design and development team to ensure a smooth integration of new products and components into manufacturing with a DFMA focus.\nManages a lean flow-oriented layout and value stream design of 2 facilities to ensure process capability meets sales demand.\nWork with HR on all employment-related issues, including hiring, training, appraising, counseling, and reprimands, in a competent manner.\nMentoring, challenging, and developing team to improve their capability and engagement and to help them achieve their career development goals\nPerform one-on-one meetings with direct reports and with production managers.\nCoach and support employees for high and timely performance\nSupport all safety initiatives and maintain a high awareness of safety in the facility\nRequirements\nSkills and Abilities:\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization\nStrong facilitation skills\nExcellent organization and project management skills\nAbility to adapt to changes in the work environment.\nStrong analytical and conceptual thinking skills\nAbility to juggle and manage competing tasks and demands and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events\nAbility to make sound judgments and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and make decisions/choices within the functional area of responsibility with minimal direct supervision\nRegular and punctual attendance.\nMaintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.\nAbility to handle emergency situations calmly.\nKnowledge and Education:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field\n7-10 years experience in engineering, including 2-3 years of progressive leadership experience\nEffective problem-solving, team, and interpersonal skills used to influence others to accomplish identified objectives.\nAn energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image\nA strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, decisive, good judgment, and strong operational focus\nA well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player\nAn intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills\nAn exemplary educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret engineering documents\nMust be a licensed driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR)\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.\nMust be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.\nMust be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.\nThis is a safety-sensitive position.\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nNautique Boat Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
