You will primarily work developing and maintaining our Container Orchestration Platform based on Kubernetes. You will be expected to work with standard programming tools such as version control and deployment software, follow industry best practices, write tests for the code you write, and follow all applicable coding guidelines.Your duties will include designing and architecting solutions for both internal and external systems, taking part in daily scrums, writing and developing modules for existing applications, configuring and deploying helm charts, upgrading Kubernetes clusters, and developing infrastructure as code.\nJob Description\nWhat NAV CANADA offers you:\nChallenging, team-oriented work environment\nCompetitive compensation and benefits\nDefined benefit pension plan\nOpportunities for growth and development\nFlexible work arrangements\nDiverse and inclusive workforce\nKey Accountabilities:\nManage, support, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters deployed in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and on-premises environments.\nDesign, implement, and maintain new platform features and capabilities to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.\nSupport application teams with Kubernetes onboarding, deployment strategies, and operational best practices.\nDevelop, maintain, and review Helm charts used to deploy and manage applications.\nMonitor cluster health, application performance, resource utilization, and platform availability.\nTroubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, storage, and application deployment issues.\nContribute innovative new ideas to continue to shape the product.\nJob Requirements\nEducation:\nSecondary school diploma or equivalent.\nGraduation from a recognized university or college with a degree or certification in Computer Science or Software Engineering or an acceptable combination of education, related experience, and training.\nExperience:\nA minimum of three (3) years of experience with containerization and creating or maintaining Kubernetes cluster.\nExperience using Kubernetes and it’s eco system (Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, Harbor, etc.)\nExperience with Infrastructure as code and relevant tooling.\nExperience using Linux and Shell Scripting.\nKnowledge:\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service and other Azure services.\nFamiliarity with developing, configuring, and deploying HELM charts.\nKnowledge of building resilient, fault-tolerant applications on Kubernetes.\nKnowledge of Kubernetes management components and cluster upgrade strategies\nKnowledge of Cloud Native applications and tooling.\nAbilities:\nAdvanced analytical skills to investigate and analyze software problems to develop, test and implement modifications.\nStrong troubleshooting skills to assess, repair, mitigate and find the root cause. \nTechnical design and drafting skills.\nAbility to work as part of a team using Agile software development methodologies.\nStrong communication skills and technical writing skills.\nPersonal Suitability:\nEstablish and maintain good interpersonal relationship with internal and external stakeholders.\nShows initiative, integrity, reliability, good judgement positive attitude.\nResilient and openness to change.\nWorking conditions:\nOccasional travel required.\nFlexible work arrangements:\nThis position is a hybrid position with a minimum of three (3) days per week on site.\nNAV CANADA is committed to building a skilled, diverse workforce reflective of Canadian society.
