The System Analyst’s activities will focus on software solutioning; completing designs and specifications to meet specific operational requirements. System Analyst’s activities shall be in accordance with all Corporate Safety and Quality policies and practices, and the Engineering Safety and Quality policies and practices. Work normally involves providing third-level technical and operational systems support, advice, and assistance to clients.Job Description\nWhat NAV CANADA offers you:\nChallenging, team-oriented work environment\nCompetitive compensation and benefits\nDefined benefit pension plan\nOpportunities for growth and development\nFlexible work arrangements\nDiverse and inclusive workforce\nKey Accountabilities:\nPrepare and maintain system requirements, detailed plans, system designs, and specifications for the implementation of systems to meet operational, technical and safety requirements.\nWork closely with software developers, test specialists, technologists, and stakeholders in an Agile development environment.\nParticipate in Agile planning activities, including feature definition, story development, backlog refinement, and estimation.\nParticipate in the analysis, design, integration, and validation of system enhancements and changes.\nSupport verification, product certification, and quality assurance activities through the review and validation of test plans, test cases, and test procedures.\nRaise, triage, and support resolution of defects and technical issues.\nInvestigate and resolve technical issues affecting in-development and in-service systems.\nProvide technical analysis and recommendations related to system requirements, design, integration, and operational/life cycle maintenance issues.\nEnsure assigned project activities are completed on schedule and in accordance with established processes.\nJob Requirements\nEducation:\nDegree from a recognized university or community college with an acceptable specialization in computer, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science or information systems or an acceptable combination of education, related experience, and training.\nExperience:\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience in the analysis, design, integration, testing, or support of complex software-based, operational, and/or safety-critical systems.\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience interpreting operational and technical requirements and developing system specifications and technical documentation for complex systems.\nMinimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience investigating, testing, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex systems, including defect investigation and system validation activities.\nKnowledge:\nKnowledge of complex software applications and systems that support critical operational environments.\nKnowledge of systems analysis, requirements management, system design, configuration management, integration, validation, and lifecycle management practices.\nKnowledge of the full system/software development lifecycle.\nKnowledge of software architectures, databases, application frameworks, and integration concepts.\nKnowledge of software configuration management processes, practices, tools, and techniques.\nAbilities:\nAbility to apply knowledge and experience to develop new solutions, designs and plans.\nAbility to capture and document requirements clearly.\nAbility to identify problem areas, obtain and analyse data.\nAbility to devise and implement effective solutions.\nAbility to establish effective working relations with colleagues and associates.\nAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.\nPersonal Suitability:\nInfluence others outside of team to ensure goals are met and resolve conflicts in an effective manner.\nEstablish and communicate common goals and direction for team as required.\nEstablish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationship in dealings with team members, colleagues, and superiors.\nSeek out new avenues for building internal and external relationships.\nMaintain positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.\nWorking conditions:\nThis is a hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days on site required per week.\nThe work location is the Ottawa Technical Systems Centre.\nNAV CANADA is committed to building a skilled, diverse workforce reflective of Canadian society.
