Position summary 

You’ll manage the support of a mid-large scale product, working closely with our engineers, designers and government partners to triage issues and distill them into clear, actionable tickets for the team. You'll be available to tackle Priority one issues as they arise. You'll also work with the team to continually improve on our response and support of the system and build close working relationships with a variety of people, including engineers, client stakeholders, and partner vendors. 

You think holistically and understand how the details of the project fit into the bigger picture, and take pride in working through highly ambiguous situations to deliver value to users. You have a strong bias towards action when faced with incomplete information, and communicate transparently to build consensus internally and externally.

What you'll do

• Serve as a primary connection between government stakeholders and the Nava team, managing the agile ceremonies , estimating effort and capacity, triaging production incidents, setting delivery expectations, tracking and communicating progress, and removing blockers as they arise.
• Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with your Nava teammates, government stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional partners.
• Develop a strong understanding of the team’s objectives, systems, and capabilities to inform project priorities and help resolve issues effectively.
• Coordinate across multiple scrum  teams to drive alignment across complex ecosystems and support successful outcomes.
• Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting on risks, progress, successes, challenges, and outcomes.
• Monitor team velocity and sprint commitment reliability, and continuously improve the team’s processes for planning, organizing, and delivering work.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, embrace change, and ask thoughtful questions to better understand business needs and technical capabilities.
• Be part of a rotation of Project Managers who lead production releases and incident response approximately one week per month, on top of normal Agile Scrum duties for your teams. If a high-priority incident arises during your rotation, you may need to work extra hours outside of the normal work day

Required skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Product Manager, or similar role in a complex software development environment with multiple stakeholders.
• 3+ years of experience leading Agile Scrum teams, including facilitating ceremonies and supporting effective team delivery.
• Ability to serve as Scrum Master for two concurrent and highly technical workstreams , such as  cloud infrastructure and payments processing.
• Direct, hands-on experience using Agile performance metrics to monitor and improve team performance, including velocity, sprint commitment reliability, capacity planning, and backlog health.
• Experience using and managing engineering ticketing systems, with a strong focus on tracking issues through resolution and maintaining clear, thorough documentation. Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)  and Confluence is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading fast-paced, complex projects involving multiple milestones, dependencies, integrations, and significant risk, uncertainty, or scale.
• Experience working collaboratively across Product, Design, and Engineering teams in a multidisciplinary environment, with a focus on maintaining clear, consistent, and fast communication.
• Experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe, and familiarity with Agile development practices such as continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to drive prioritization across multiple projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication, situational awareness, and conflict-resolution skills, with a focus on increasing transparency and alignment across teams.
• Adaptive, proactive, empathetic, and tenacious approach to problem-solving, with a positive and collaborative mindset.

Desired skills

• Project management in a government technology delivery context (state or federal)
• Track record of maturing and expanding agile transformation and pursuing best practices in project management with government stakeholders
• Experience building and strengthening technical quality assurance processes and/or CI/CD pipelines. 

Compensation

$114,300—$126,000 USD
