Software Development Manager

We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead Application Development and Delivery, owning both the technical direction and the people leadership of the engineering team building and scaling AceN. This role sits at the intersection of hands- on technical depth and team management, responsible for delivery quality, architecture decisions, and growing a high-performing engineering team.

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Technical Leadership:

• Own the technical architecture and design decisions for application development, ensuring alignment with cloud-native, microservices-based best practices.
• Drive adoption and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/Cloud Run), and IaC practices (Terraform).
• Ensure application security standards are embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance on REST API design, database architecture (SQL/NoSQL), and event-driven/messaging patterns.

Delivery Management:

• Own end-to-end delivery of application development projects, balancing scope, quality, and timelines.
• Run Agile/Scrum ceremonies and manage delivery tracking via Jira or equivalent tools.
• Identify and remove delivery blockers, manage cross-team dependencies and stakeholder communication.

People Management:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers.
• Own hiring, performance management, and career development for direct reports.
• Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous learning.
• Act as the primary escalation point for the team on both technical and delivery matters.

Requirements:

• B. E. / B. Tech in Computer Science or allied streams.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Strong software development and engineering background with demonstrated hands-on technical depth.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs.
• Experience with cloud-native applications on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Run.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with messaging / event-driven architecture.
• Proficiency with Git and experience with Bitbucket or GitHub.
• Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of application security principles and practices.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Experience with Jira or equivalent project tracking tools.
