It is written in Visual C++ on Windows Server, with heavy business logic in SQL Server. You will shadow the client's current technical lead, then own the architecture, code quality and release decisions for the system.\n**Responsibilities**\n* Lead knowledge transfer from the client's engineers and turn it into architecture documents, runbooks and code walkthroughs.\n* Own technical design, code reviews and production releases for the rules engine.\n* Lead a pod of 3 senior C++ developers and 1 Rails developer.\n* Diagnose and resolve production issues, including performance problems in SQLServer.\n* Plan the modernisation of legacy components (including MS Access dependencies)without disrupting live operations.\n* Act as the main technical contact for the client's engineering leadership in the US and Cyprus.\n**Must have**\n* 12+ years in software development, with at least 7 years in C++ on Windows (VisualC++ / MSVC).\n* Deep SQL Server experience: complex stored procedures, query tuning, execution plans, indexing.
