\**About the role** You will lead the team taking over a large rights and licensing rules engine that has been in production for many years. It is written in Visual C++ on Windows Server, with heavy business logic in SQL Server. You will shadow the client's current technical lead, then own the architecture, code quality and release decisions for the system. **Responsibilities** * Lead knowledge transfer from the client's engineers and turn it into architecture documents, runbooks and code walkthroughs. * Own technical design, code reviews and production releases for the rules engine. * Lead a pod of 3 senior C++ developers and 1 Rails developer. * Diagnose and resolve production issues, including performance problems in SQLServer. * Plan the modernisation of legacy components (including MS Access dependencies)without disrupting live operations. * Act as the main technical contact for the client's engineering leadership in the US and Cyprus. **Must have** * 12+ years in software development, with at least 7 years in C++ on Windows (VisualC++ / MSVC). * Deep SQL Server experience: complex stored procedures, query tuning, execution plans, indexing.
