This role will be responsible for assisting with accounting aspects of the business, and requires understanding of accounting and the ability to partner with the NBC News organization, as well as NBCUniversal’s various business units.\nResponsible for the coordination and/or preparation of monthly/quarterly close deliverables.\nMaintain and complete assigned Blackline account reconciliations, ensuring timely certification, proper backup, and resolution of reconciling items\nPrepare monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry. \nAssist controllership function and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.\nResearch ways of streamlining and standardizing processes within designated area of responsibility\nAssist with adhoc requests and deliverables\n Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance\n2+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, with demonstrated progression\nExperience in media/entertainment industry preferred\nTechnical skills, including ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to business transactions\nCPA & Public Accounting experience, preferred\nComputer skills, including SAP, AOE, Excel\nDesired Characteristics\nAbility to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment\nAccustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization\nDetail oriented and organized\nProcess and system awareness, including the ability to identify and mitigate control weaknesses\nSolid communication skills\nDemonstrated ability to build working relationships with key partners\nAbility to work in a fast, dynamic environment and prioritize competing priorities\nHybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the New York, NY office a minimum of four days per week.
