The Field Broadcast Engineer will be responsible for operating and maintaining a ENG camera, lighting, editing and audio package as needed.\nResponsible for managing various disciplines of remote broadcasting including but not limited to transmission, audio, video, communications, RF, and IT\nResponsible for designing, integrating, maintaining, operating, procuring, and assembling “travel ready” light weight and streamlined broadcast systems for deployment world-wide\nResponsible for keeping up to date paperwork on engineering systems, technical workflows, and client specific technical solutions\nResponsible for maintaining inventory of all equipment used by Field Operations and maintain all associated documentation up to date\nResponsible for creating pack lists and manifests of equipment being deployed domestically and internationally\nMaintains the department up to date on latest technologies and broadcast protocols\nWorks under the direct supervision of the Manager, Field Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by manager as needed\n Basic Requirements:\nMinimum 5 years of experience setting up remote broadcasts\nExhibits working knowledge and experience with:Remote broadcast transmission signal flow\nAudio mixers and microphones.\nProfessional camera setup and color matching\nRemote to home base communications\nSatellite uplink technology and procedures.\nRadio frequency microphones and transmitters.\nIP networks for use with PC’s and streaming video.\n\nAssociates degree from an accredited technical school/ relevant field or equivalent work experience\nProven experience leading and/or managing technical teams\nProven knowledge in all aspects of television production format\nDesired Characteristics:\nFluency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) strongly preferred\nExperience with Ross Video ( Ultrix Carbonite)\nAbility to troubleshoot in a live television environment\nExperience with Visio or Auto Cad\nDetail oriented and highly organized\nSelf-starter who exhibits ownership on assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve immediate problems while building towards long-term goals\nAbility to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment\nAccustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization\nDemonstrates strong attention to detail\nAbility to build rapport with clients and manage expectations\nAbility to effectively be flexible in approach, and respond well to pressure\nStrong interpersonal & leadership skills\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nAdditional Requirements:\nThis position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite\nMust be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area\nWillingness to travel with short notice and on weekends\nCandidate must be available for overnight and/or overseas travel to natural disasters or conflict-ridden parts of the world, or otherwise hazardous locations\nMust be 18 years or older\nMust be willing to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment\nMust be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends\n As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
