We partner with community-based organizations and agencies to empower our clients to thrive and live as independently as possible within the geographically, culturally, and ethnically diverse communities we serve.\nNorth Bay Regional Center serves over 13,000 people living within the geographic boundaries of Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. North Bay Regional Center is a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. At NBRC, we’re promoting opportunities by supporting choices for people with developmental disabilities.\nNote: Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred.\nDEFINITION OF THE ROLE\nUnder the direction of the Director of Equity and Engagement, the NBRC Person-Centered Thinking Coordinator leads NBRC’s strategic objectives related to self-advocacy and Person-Centered Thinking (PCT), coordinating the strategic objectives and regional efforts to build capacity for person-centered practices. This position is responsible for the development and integration of person-centered practices internally and with NBRC’s external community partners. The PCT Coordinator will represent NBRC and provide feedback on PCT and self-advocacy short- and long-term goals.\nRequirements\nMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree required.\nMaster’s degree preferred. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, social work, psychology, organizational development, adult learning, communication, education, or another related field.\nExperience\nMust have at least 4 (four) years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.\n OR\nTwo years in a relevant professional position at North Bay Regional Center, which included developing and leading training sessions to employees.\nMust hold and maintain certification as a Person-Centered Thinking Trainer.\nDemonstrated experience in using Person-Centered Thinking skills.\nMinimum experience qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).\nMinimum education requirements may not be waived.\nKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:\nDemonstrated knowledge of and skills in Person-Centered Thinking.\nKnowledge of adult learning styes and effective instructional design and delivery methods.\nDemonstrated experience in coaching and training others.\nKnowledge of service delivery methods to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.\nAbility to read, understand, and interpret legislation and regulations as they relate to the development, implementation, and evaluation of services for individuals with developmental disabilities.\nExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability in public speaking and conducting presentations for small to large groups.\nAdvanced skills in using common office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nSelf-starter, able to work on complex problems and organize multiple priorities.\nDemonstrated critical thinker and innovative problem-solver.\nExceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.\n SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS\nAbility to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours.\nMust be able to regularly travel to all NBRC offices within catchment area to provide employee training as well as support and oversight to assigned staff member(s).\nMust be able to occasionally travel to attend meetings outside of catchment area, including occasional overnight travel to attend statewide meetings.\nIf operating own vehicle, provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.\nFlexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency.\nThis position will be primarily based in the office, however, a hybrid work arrangement may also be available.\nFluency in a language in addition to English is desirable and may be required.\nA note regarding NBRC’s expectations regarding remote, hybrid, and home-based work…\nAll employment at NBRC requires face-to-face, in-person interactions with NBRC clients, family members, community, and co-workers. Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients.
