NCC

NCC is a Swedish construction and property development company headquartered in Solna, near Stockholm, that builds housing, offices, schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, tunnels and industrial facilities and produces asphalt and stone materials. Formed in 1988 and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, it operates across Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland and has set up a Green Industry Transformation business area for large industrial projects in northern Sweden, including a megaproject in Luleå. It hires project engineers, planners, health and safety specialists, fleet and category managers, HR generalists and interns.

Purchasing is a top priority at NCC, playing a key role in securing long-term success and delivering profitable projects.

As IT Procurement Manager, you will help shape sourcing decisions, supplier strategies and commercial outcomes across NCC’s technology landscape, working closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure sourcing, contracting and supplier governance support both business objectives and technology roadmaps.

If you’re ready to use your skills to influence and shape the future, this role offers the perfect opportunity to grow and make a difference.

The role and key responsibilities

This role puts you at the heart of IT and procurement, where your technology understanding and commercial insight will shape better sourcing outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders, you will influence sourcing strategies and explore supplier, delivery and commercial models that improve efficiency, reduce risk exposure and optimize total cost of ownership. You will contribute to supplier and sourcing strategies, commercial governance, sourcing initiatives and stakeholder advisory across a broad IT landscape.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Lead and support sourcing initiatives across software, cloud, infrastructure, End User Services, IT Support and network services, with ownership of relevant IT sourcing portfolios.
  • Act as a commercial advisor and sparring partner to IT stakeholders.
  • Challenge and improve sourcing approaches, supplier operating models and commercial strategies.
  • Evaluate alternative delivery models, including managed services, outsourcing, reseller models and multi-supplier environments.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and manage IT agreements throughout their lifecycle.
  • Translate technical, security and operational requirements into commercial and contractual solutions.
  • Develop and drive sourcing and supplier governance, performance management and renewal planning across major technology suppliers.
  • Support category planning, supplier roadmaps, risk management and optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Service Owners, Architects, Information Security, Legal and business stakeholders to ensure aligned sourcing decisions.

About Purchasing at NCC

  • NCC Purchasing is a network of professionals across the Nordics. We handle everything from project purchasing and supplier base development to strategic sourcing and category management. Collaboration between our teams is key to delivering successful customer projects.

You will join a highly engaged IT Procurement team working closely with IT leadership, strategic suppliers and stakeholders across the Nordic organization. The position offers exposure to a broad technology landscape and the opportunity to develop through increasingly complex sourcing initiatives, supplier relationships and category responsibilities.

You will have room to contribute with your ideas, challenge existing approaches and help improve how IT Procurement operates.

Your experience and background

You are commercially minded, curious about technology and motivated to continue developing your expertise. You have the confidence to contribute with your own perspective, while remaining open to challenge, feedback and new ways of working. You enjoy understanding how IT services are delivered and how commercial models, supplier ecosystems and technology decisions connect. You can work independently within your area of responsibility, but you also value collaboration and know when to involve specialists from IT, security, architecture, legal or the business. You do not need to have mastered every part of the IT landscape. More important is your ability to learn quickly, structure complex questions and progressively take on broader sourcing, category and supplier responsibilities.

Requirements specification:

You may bring around 5-7 years of relevant experience in IT Procurement, IT Sourcing, IT Vendor Management or Supplier Management. If you have a strong commercial mindset, an interest in technology and the ambition to learn and grow, we encourage you to apply.

  • Strong commercial and contracting capability, with experience negotiating and managing IT agreements independently.
  • Good understanding of enterprise IT environments.
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the role’s main areas-such as infrastructure, end user services, IT Support or network -would be an advantage. You do not need to be an expert across the full scope.
  • Ability to engage credibly with IT stakeholders and challenge conventional sourcing approaches.
  • Experience translating technical requirements into commercial and contractual frameworks.
  • Experience from working with strategic suppliers and governance structures in complex IT environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • English and at least one Nordic language.

If you meet these criteria and are ready to contribute to our Purchasing Transformation journey, we invite you to apply. Your passion, drive, and commitment will help us achieve new heights through digitalization and innovation in the construction industry.
