This role is central to providing expertise in the evaluation of material properties, quality, and consistency.\nOur team combines experts in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Metrology, all working collaboratively to deliver high precision results.\nYou'll be involved in rigorous testing following international and British standards, conducting inspections, and analysing materials. Your work will contribute to the reliability of our processes, identifying design deviations and understanding key material properties to support our wider goals and customers.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProficient in the use of a variety of metrology equipment for accurate data capture.\nUtilise metrology software for data analysis and reporting.\nInnovate and apply state-of-the-art metrology techniques.\nOptimise methods and automate metrology processes.\nContribute to a diverse range of projects, particularly in composite manufacturing processes.\nEssential Skills:\nCompetent in the use of various metrology equipment - scanners, trackers, photogrammetry etc.\nknowledgeable in state-of-the-art metrology techniques (Up-to-date with the latest advancements in metrology).\nExperience in researching and evaluating metrology technologies, developing technical recommendations and roadmaps, and producing clear, evidence-based reports\nInnovative Background: Proven experience in driving innovation within the field.\nAdditional experience in the following areas is advantageous but not crucial\nExperienced in using Polyworks software\nProgramming CMMs.\nKnowledge of CAD software, automation, and coding languages.\nExperience in NDT.\nBackground working with composite materials and composite manufacturing processes.\nWhat do we offer in return?\nHybrid and flexible working as standard, annual salary reviews, company paid private medical insurance, up to 12.5% employer pension contribution, great people, honorary staff status at the University of Bristol.
