Our dedicated 20,000 employees optimize the branch, improve operational efficiency and maximize self-service availability for financial institutions and retailers across the globe.\nTitle: Engineering Technical Manager\nLocation: Dundee\nGrade: 13\nNCR Atleos in Dundee has opportunity within the ATM Product Development Team for an Engineering Technical Manager/Project Lead to join the organisation.\nA key requirement for this role is approximately 10 years' mechanical product design experience, with a strong background in mechanical engineering, product development and technical leadership.\nThe successful candidate should have experience taking products from concept through development, validation and into manufacture.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and technical leadership in ATM product development.\nDevelop robust, cost-effective designs that meet functional, manufacturing, service, safety and engineering requirements.\nTake ownership of mechanical designs from concept through prototype, validation and production release.\nLead mechanical development activities, including estimates, design options, risk assessment and manufacturing recommendations.\nEvaluate technologies and design solutions and provide clear technical recommendations.\nEngage with suppliers on design, tooling, manufacture, cost and quality.\nLead design validation through design reviews, analysis, tolerance assessment, testing and problem correction/CLCA.\nLead technical problem solving and root-cause activities.\nEnsure designs are released with the drawings, specifications and documentation required for implementation.\nCreate development plans and drive engineering activities to meet project milestones.\nProvide technical direction and mentoring to other engineers.\nMaintain high engineering standards across the development team.\nEducation\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.\nEssential Experience\nStrong experience in mechanical/product engineering, including:\nStrong 3D CAD experience, Creo/ProE or SolidWorks preferred, including part development and large assembly management.\nStrong understanding of mechanical design, materials and manufacturing techniques.\nExperience in sheet metal and injection-moulded plastic design.\nExperience taking products from concept through validation and production release.\nGood understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and tolerance analysis.\nExperience of DFM/DFA and working directly with manufacturing suppliers.\nStrong practical problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.\nAbility to communicate clear technical analysis and recommendations.\nAbility to manage multiple development activities and priorities.\nStrong communicator at team, cross-functional and management level.\nExperience leading and mentoring engineers.\nDesirable Experience\nExperience with complex electro-mechanical products and mechanisms.\nExperience with product safety, regulatory compliance and design risk assessment.\nExperience of cost reduction and value engineering.\nExperience with ATM, self-service or similar complex manufactured products.\nOffers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the job.\nEEO Statement\nNCR Atleos is an equal-opportunity employer.
