This role is focused on developing software systems that collect, process, and analyze telemetry and monitoring data across distributed cloud environments. You will design and build scalable services primarily in Go, develop integrations with cloud and observability platforms, and help create an internal monitoring ecosystem that delivers actionable insights into application and infrastructure performance.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, observability, telemetry data collection, and code instrumentation. This is an opportunity to influence the architecture of a strategic platform used to monitor and improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of critical systems.\nJob Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable software applications and platform services primarily using Go.\nBuild and enhance software components responsible for collecting, processing, and exporting observability and telemetry data across multiple systems and platforms.\nDevelop and maintain services that integrate with cloud-native monitoring solutions, internal SRE tooling, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) observability services.\nCreate and enhance a monitoring and observability platform that provides actionable insights into application health, performance, reliability, and user experience.\nImplement instrumentation within applications and services to generate meaningful metrics, traces, and logs that support operational excellence and system visibility.\nCollaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to define observability requirements and deliver scalable solutions.\nDesign and develop APIs, plugins, and integrations that support telemetry collection and observability workflows.\nParticipate in architectural discussions involving distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring technologies.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex performance, scalability, and reliability issues across cloud-based environments.\nMentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices.\nImplement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies to improve software quality and deployment efficiency.\nStay current on emerging trends and technologies related to observability, cloud-native architectures, infrastructure monitoring, and software reliability engineering.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.\n5+ years of professional software development experience building scalable applications and services.\nStrong proficiency in Go (Golang) with demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade applications.\nDeep understanding of Go development best practices, including concurrency, performance optimization, testing, and code quality.\nExperience developing cloud-native applications in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure environments.\nWorking knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, networking fundamentals, and distributed system architecture.\nExperience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.\nStrong understanding of observability concepts, including metrics, traces, logs, telemetry pipelines, and monitoring architectures.\nExperience instrumenting code and applications using observability frameworks and standards such as OpenTelemetry or similar technologies.\nExperience working with telemetry data collection, aggregation, and analysis.\nFamiliarity with modern observability and monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Google Cloud Operations Suite, or related technologies.\nExperience working alongside Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams and supporting production monitoring strategies.\nStrong understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.\nExperience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.\nExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience building internal developer platforms, monitoring systems, or observability products.\nFamiliarity with Google Cloud observability tools and telemetry ecosystems.\nExperience developing plugins, connectors, or integrations for monitoring and data collection platforms.\nUnderstanding of distributed tracing, service meshes, and cloud-native observability architectures.\nExperience working in high-scale, production SaaS environments.\nKnowledge of infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as Terraform.\nOffers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the job\nEEO Statement\nIntegrated into our shared values is NCR Voyix’s commitment to equal employment opportunity.
