The role involves working within an established, modular codebase that supports restaurant operations and integrates Windows services, web applications, APIs, databases, and other system components.\n\nThe immediate focus is on maintaining and extending our existing C# / .NET Framework platform, resolving production issues, and delivering incremental product improvements. Over time, you will also contribute to the gradual modernization of the platform.\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software using C# and .NET Framework. \nDeliver well-scoped product enhancements, technical improvements, and bug fixes. \nMaintain and extend applications built with ASP.NET MVC 5 and Web API 2. \nDevelop and troubleshoot REST APIs and integrations with other platform components. \nWork with SQL Server, including ADO.NET, stored procedures, and query troubleshooting. \nDevelop and maintain Windows Services and other Windows-hosted application components. \nTroubleshoot issues across store-side agents, server components, APIs, databases, and system integrations. \nWork with multithreaded and asynchronous application code and network-based communication. \nDiagnose application and integration issues in development, test, and production environments. \nWrite and maintain focused automated unit tests. \nParticipate in code reviews and apply established engineering practices. \nWork safely and effectively within a large, established codebase where changes may affect multiple interconnected components. \nContribute to technical improvements and the gradual modernization of the platform while continuing to support existing functionality. \n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n3–5 years of professional software development experience using C#. \nStrong practical experience with .NET Framework, particularly versions 4.5 through 4.7.2. \nExperience with Visual Studio, MSBuild, and NuGet. \nExperience developing or maintaining applications using ASP.NET MVC 5 and Web API 2. \nWorking knowledge of IIS, Web.config configuration, HTTP, and REST APIs. \nExperience with Microsoft SQL Server, including: \nADO.NET \nstored procedures \nSQL query troubleshooting \ninvestigating application/database integration issues \nExperience developing or supporting Windows Services. \nPractical understanding of multithreading, asynchronous programming, and networking concepts. \nExperience debugging and troubleshooting applications in production or production-like environments. \nExperience using Git and working with established source-control and code-review practices. \nExperience writing and maintaining unit tests. \nAbility to understand, maintain, and incrementally improve an existing codebase rather than relying exclusively on greenfield development. \n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with one or more of the following would be beneficial:\n\nEntity Framework 6 \nRabbitMQ \nCouchbase \nWCF \nWebSockets \nJWT-based authentication \nWindows Forms \nCOM interoperability \n32-bit Windows application deployments \nTypeScript and JavaScript \nSecurity remediation and dependency upgrades for legacy .NET Framework applications \nModern .NET and ASP.NET Core \n\nWhat Success Looks Like\n\nAs a Software Engineer II, you will be expected to become productive within an established platform, independently deliver appropriately scoped changes, and troubleshoot issues across multiple application components.\n\nYou should be comfortable balancing new development with maintenance and production support.
