NCS is a subsidiary of the Singtel Group\n The Data Centre Operations Specialist is responsible for day-to-day IT operations and data centre support activities, including system and batch monitoring, scheduled job execution, incident escalation, tape management, server operational tasks, remote hands support, and operational reporting.\nThe role operates primarily through established work instructions, standard operating procedure (SOP), and escalation processes to ensure stable and continuous operation of critical IT infrastructure and services.\nWhat will you do?\n1. Batch Scheduling, Monitoring & Execution\nMonitor and manage scheduled batch jobs and workloads using tools.\nExecute scheduled jobs and operational activities according to approved work instructions.\nIdentify failed, delayed, or abnormal jobs and perform first-level checks.\nEscalate batch failures and exceptions to the appropriate technical support teams.\n2. Infrastructure & Alert Monitoring\nPerform continuous monitoring of infrastructure, systems, applications and backup alerts.\nMonitor operational consoles.\nAcknowledge, validate and escalate alerts according to established procedures and escalation matrices.\nMaintain accurate records of incidents, alerts and actions taken.\n3. Server & System Operations\nConduct routine server and system health checks in accordance with work instructions.\nPerform approved operational activities for Windows and Linux servers, including:Server start-up and shutdown\nServer reboot\nService start, stop and restart\n\nPerform Ansible OS Patching activities according to approved work instructions and change schedules.Perform monthly UAT and Production OS Patching.\nOS Patching activities for Windows and Linux.\n\nEscalate abnormalities or unsuccessful activities to the appropriate technical support teams.\n4. Mainframe\nPerform scheduled Mainframe IPL activities in accordance with approved procedures.\nExecute authorised start, stop and restart of mainframe services.\nMonitor activities during execution and escalate exceptions or failures.\n5. Backup Media & Tape\nManage onsite and offsite backup media and storage.\nMaintain and execute tape schedules.\nPerform tape mounting and unmounting activities.\nCoordinate tape movement, collection, delivery and offsite storage requirements.\nMaintain accurate tape inventory and movement records.\n6. Printing & Dispatch\nManage scheduled production printing activities.\nMonitor print jobs and resolve or escalate basic printing issues.\nPerform sorting, handling and dispatch of printed materials according to operational requirements.\n7. Remote Hands & Legs\nProvide Remote Hands and Legs support for internal teams, customers and technical engineers.\nCarry out basic physical activities such as equipment checks, cable verification, visual inspection and other authorised tasks based on work instructions.\nProvide onsite escorts and coordinate data centre access clearance.\n8. Reporting\nGenerate daily, weekly and monthly reports.\nMaintain operational records, checklists and activity logs.\nPrepare monthly SLA and operational performance reports, for example:Equipment uptime\nPower usage\nTemperature readings\nOther agreed infrastructure and service performance indicators\n\n9. Service Desk and Email Monitoring\nMonitor email, incident ticket & service Request.\nCreate and manage incident tickets.\n10.
