NCS is a subsidiary of the Singtel Group.\n We are looking for a hands-on Robotics Operations Technician to support the deployment and operation of humanoid robots for events, demonstrations and customer experiences.\nThe role is responsible for the technical setup, basic configuration, testing, maintenance and operational readiness of humanoid robots before and during events. You will work closely with the Event Manager and robotics/engineering teams to ensure that the robot is safely configured, tested and ready for live operation.\nThe role will also support the creation and maintenance of technical and operational documentation, including robot operation manuals, setup procedures, troubleshooting guides, safety procedures and risk assessments.\nThis is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with emerging robotics technology and is comfortable learning new tools and robot capabilities in a fast-moving environment.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Humanoid Robot Setup & Deployment\nPerform physical setup and preparation of humanoid robots for events and demonstrations.\nCheck robot condition, battery, charging equipment, accessories and supporting equipment before deployment.\nSet up robot operating areas, controllers, networking and other required peripherals.\nPerform pre-event technical checks and readiness verification.\nSupport robot transportation, setup, teardown and packing after events.\nMaintain proper equipment inventory and deployment checklists.\n2. Robot Configuration & Testing\nPerform basic robot configuration using approved software, tools and procedures.\nConfigure robot settings, operating parameters and event-specific requirements.\nConduct functional checks on robot movement, sensors, communication, audio, display and other supported functions.\nPerform pre-event testing and rehearsals to ensure reliable operation.\nIdentify technical issues and perform first-level troubleshooting.\nEscalate hardware, software or robotics issues to the engineering team when required.\n3. Humanoid Dance & Motion Content\nConfigure and prepare new humanoid dance routines using the provided tools.\nDownload and deploy new dance/motion content from the designated server or content platform.\nVerify downloaded content and perform testing before live deployment.\nMaintain a library of approved dance routines and versions.\nSupport rehearsal and fine-tuning of robot performances for different event environments.\nEnsure only approved and tested motion content is used during live events.\n4. Event Technical Support\nProvide on-site technical support during robotics events and demonstrations.\nOperate and monitor the humanoid robot according to approved procedures.\nPerform pre-show technical checks and standby support during live performances.\nRespond to basic technical issues and recover the robot using established procedures.\nCoordinate closely with the Event Manager on show timing, technical readiness and operational constraints.\nSupport technical setup at venues including connectivity, power, charging and robot operating areas.\nMaintain technical readiness throughout the event.\n5. Safety & Risk Management\nFollow established humanoid robot safety procedures and operating guidelines.\nConduct and document pre-event safety and readiness checks.\nSupport preparation of event-specific safety and risk assessments.\nEnsure appropriate robot operating boundaries, emergency procedures and safety controls are implemented.\nMaintain awareness of risks associated with human-robot interaction, robot movement and public events.\nImmediately report safety or operational issues to the Event Manager.\n6. Technical Documentation\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation to support event operations.\nPrepare and update:Robot Operation Manuals\nSetup & Teardown Guides\nPre-Event Readiness Checklists\nBasic Troubleshooting Guides\nSafety & Risk Assessments\nRobot Operating Procedures\nDance/Motion Deployment Procedures\nEquipment Checklists\nEvent Technical Runbooks\n\nMaintain document versions and ensure the latest approved procedures are available to the event team.\nCapture lessons learned from events and update procedures accordingly.\n7. Maintenance & Asset Management\nPerform basic preventive maintenance and routine checks on humanoid robots and supporting equipment.\nMaintain batteries, chargers, controllers, cables and other robot accessories in good operating condition.\nRecord equipment condition, faults and maintenance activities.\nMaintain an inventory of technical equipment and spare parts.\nCoordinate with suppliers or engineering teams for repairs and higher-level maintenance.\n8. Continuous Improvement\nIdentify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements to setup, operation and maintenance procedures.\nImprove event deployment checklists and troubleshooting processes.\nDevelop standardised robot setup and operating procedures to enable faster deployment.\nLearn and adopt new robot capabilities, software tools and operating methods as the technology evolves.\nSupport the Event Coordinator and engineering team in improving the overall robotics event operating model.\n Candidate Profile\nWe are looking for a hands-on, technically curious and reliable individual who enjoys working with robotics and emerging technology.\nRequired\nDiploma in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.\nExperience in technical support, robotics, automation, equipment operations, AV/technology support or a related field.\nComfortable working with hardware, software and technical equipment.\nAble to follow technical procedures and checklists accurately.\nBasic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nGood documentation and communication skills.\nWilling to work on-site, including evenings, weekends and public events when required.\nWillingness to learn new robotics platforms and software tools.\nKey Competencies\nHands-on technical ability - comfortable setting up, testing and working directly with robots.\nTroubleshooting mindset - able to diagnose basic problems systematically and escalate effectively.\nOperational discipline - follows safety procedures and readiness checklists consistently.\nAttention to detail - understands that small configuration or setup issues can affect a live show.\nLearning agility - able to quickly learn new robot platforms, tools and capabilities.\nDocumentation discipline - able to turn technical knowledge into clear operating procedures.\nTeamwork - works closely with event managers, engineers, clients and vendors.\nCalm under pressure - able to respond to technical issues during live events.\nGood to Have\nBasic understanding of robotics, networking, sensors, actuators or embedded systems.\nBasic scripting or programming knowledge.\nExperience with event technical support or live technology demonstrations.\nExperience preparing safety documentation, risk assessments or technical operating procedures.\nThe role provides an opportunity to work directly with emerging humanoid robotics and contribute to building the technical operating foundation for a new robotics experience business.\nThis is a contract role. 6 months contract, 3 days/week (including weekends).\n We are driven by our AEIOU beliefs-Adventure, Excellence, Integrity, Ownership, and Unity-and we seek individuals who embody these values in both their professional and personal lives.
