If you're energised by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.\n What you will be doing:\nSolutions Engineers are trusted technical advisors who help customers get the most out of Nearmap's Imagery, 3D, and AI products. Working closely with Sales, you'll lead technical engagements across the full customer lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery and solution design through to post-sale adoption.\nWe're looking for an experienced geospatial professional with a consultative mindset, strong technical fluency across APIs, cloud, and GIS platforms, and the communication skills to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders. You'll need an outgoing, people-first personality, someone who genuinely enjoys presenting and demonstrating, and who isn't afraid to lead difficult conversations with anyone from technical engineers to CEOs.\nResponsibilities:\nLead strategic discovery engagements with customers and prospects to understand their workflows, data ecosystems, and business challenges.\n\nAct as a trusted advisor, shaping client strategy and solution architecture, and building executive-level relationships across pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales.\n\nDesign and deliver tailored demos and scalable, scenario-based demonstrations that show how Nearmap's products solve real customer problems.\n\nIdentify upsell and expansion opportunities, and advise customers on API, offline product, and custom application strategies.\n\nLead integration and onboarding for new customers, providing hands-on technical support and best-practice guidance.\n\nAct as technical liaison to Product and Engineering, surfacing customer feedback, bugs, and feature gaps, and partner with Sales Enablement on training programs.\n\nCoordinate with Survey Operations to scope and deliver custom aerial flights and offline products.\n\nRepresent Nearmap as a thought leader through content, webinars, and industry events, and mentor junior Solutions Engineers.\n\n Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with geospatial exposure. \n3-5 years in a customer-facing technical role (e.g. Solutions Engineer, Civil Engineer, Software Engineer, Data Scientist), combining technical depth with business acumen. \nProven pre-sales track record, with a history of influencing technical buying decisions and driving customer success. \nDomain expertise in Engineering, Construction, Property, or Geospatial sectors. \nSkills\nAdvanced proficiency with APIs, programming (especially Python), and custom web GIS application development. \nHands-on experience with geospatial platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS. \nSolid understanding of AI and machine learning, and how it applies to geospatial analysis. \nExperience with imagery analysis, photogrammetry, or remote sensing is a plus. \nExceptional communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging audiences from technical teams to C-suite. \nPersonal Attributes\nA natural presenter who genuinely enjoys demonstrating and pitching, and isn't afraid of difficult conversations, comfortable flexing between deeply technical engineers and strong-willed senior executives such as CEOs. \nSelf-driven and proactive, comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment. \nStrong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities without losing precision. \nA creative, analytical problem solver who can tailor solutions to complex customer challenges. \n Some of our benefits\nNearmap takes a holistic approach to our employees' emotional, physical, and financial wellness.
