If you're energized by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.\n About the role\nReporting to our Manager, Group Reporting, you’ll be an experienced, hands-on member of Nearmap’s Group Accounting team, owning key parts of our financial reporting so it’s accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.\nYou’ll drive month-end close, Group consolidation, and preparation of statutory financial statements, and bring a strong point of view on Australian tax, transfer pricing, and process improvement.\nYou’ll partner with our Financial Control, FP&A, and Commercial Finance teams across Australia and the US, as well as our external auditors and tax advisors.\nThis role would be in ideal next step for an experienced Accountant / Assistant Manager or newly promoted Manager from a Big 4 or similar tier 2 consulting background who wants real ownership inside a fast-moving, PE-owned business, working closely with our Senior Group Accountant, Manager, Group Reporting, and Director, Group Reporting.\nWhat you’ll do\nOwn month-end close, including preparing and completing balance sheet reconciliations and posting journals for your assigned accounts.\nManage the Group consolidation process, ensuring it’s accurate, timely, and aligned with reporting standards.\nLead preparation of monthly and annual statutory financial statements, and pull together underlying financial information for our external advisors.\nPrepare monthly variance analysis to support management’s review of business performance.\nLead external audits as central point of contact, coordinating testing, responding to auditor queries, and preparing supporting documentation.\nManage direct tax and transfer pricing matters, including compliance documentation, working alongside our external tax advisors and Group Tax Manager.\nPrepare and reconcile intercompany transactions as part of the Group’s consolidation process.\nLiaise with the ATO and state and territory revenue offices as required.\nMonitor and research new and amended accounting standards, forming a view on their impact on the Group’s financial statements and recommending how we respond.\nIdentify and drive process improvement initiatives that make month-end and reporting more efficient.\nContribute to ad hoc finance projects and initiatives as they arise, partnering across teams on assignments that support the wider business.\nMaintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and our Code of Conduct.\n What you’ll bring\nTertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.\nCA/CPA qualified required.\n4+ years experience in an Accounting or Finance role, with exposure to financial reporting and global consolidations essential.\nExposure to multi-currency consolidations, transfer pricing and tax experience viewed favorably.\nStrong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with an eagerness to build on it.\nBig 4 or tier 2 consulting experience, or exposure to an ASX-listed or SaaS/subscription business, viewed favorably.\nAdvanced Excel skills, with experience in NetSuite, Salesforce and similar accounting/ERP systems preferable.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to deliver complex messages simplistically.\nStrong time management and high attention to detail with an ability to work in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment.\nAbout you\nYou’re detail-obsessed.
