If you're energized by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.\n Reporting to the Director, Financial Operations, you’ll take ownership of Nearmap’s Australian end-to-end monthly payroll and payroll-related systems. You’ll ensure our people are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, Modern Awards and the National Employment Standards. Working closely with Finance, People & Culture and external providers, you’ll manage payroll reporting and reconciliations, respond to employee queries, administer our payroll system, and continuously improve payroll processes and the employee experience.\nOwn and process Australian end-to-end monthly payroll accurately and on time.\nMaintain accurate payroll data and administer the payroll system, including correct setup of employee remuneration and benefits.\nRun payroll reports, reconciliations and data checks, maintaining robust audit processes to support accuracy and compliance.\nPrepare payroll tax, workers’ compensation and other statutory reports for relevant authorities and insurers.\nManage year-end payroll reporting and other ad hoc reporting requirements.\nRespond to payroll queries promptly and deliver a high level of internal customer service.\nMaintain a strong working knowledge of payroll taxation, Modern Awards, the National Employment Standards and other relevant legislation.\nMaintain the Payroll Manual, training materials, policies and procedures, ensuring documentation remains accurate and current.\nIdentify and implement continuous improvements to payroll systems, controls and processes to increase efficiency, service quality and the overall employee experience.\n About you\nYou’re detail-oriented. You bring strong administrative skills and take pride in delivering accurate, well-controlled payroll outcomes.\nYou’re service-minded. You respond to employee queries promptly and work collaboratively with Finance, People & Culture and external partners.\nYou’re improvement-focused. You look for practical ways to strengthen payroll controls, streamline processes and improve the employee experience.\nYou’re trustworthy. You handle confidential and sensitive information with maturity, discretion and sound judgment.\nWhat you’ll bring\n5+ years’ payroll experience managing end-to-end payroll for a mid-sized to large organisation.\nWorking knowledge of payroll-related legislation, taxation requirements, Modern Awards and the National Employment Standards.\nDemonstrated experience with payroll reporting, reconciliations, data checks and audit processes.\nStrong customer service, time management and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.\nIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with payroll and related business systems.\nMaturity, discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive employee information.\nExperience using UKG Ready and Payroll Metrics is highly desired; a tertiary qualification is desirable but not required.\n Why you'll love working at Nearmap:\nWe move fast and work smart; often wearing multiple hats.
