Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.\nAs an Electrical Design Engineer specialising in high- and medium-voltage systems, you will help design the resilient power infrastructure behind Nebius AI data centers across EMEA. You will work from early concept and site development through detailed design, construction, commissioning and operational handover.\nThis is a hands-on technical role for an engineer who can make sound design decisions, challenge consultant proposals and turn demanding GPU workload requirements into safe, scalable and buildable electrical systems.\nWhat you will own\nDevelop and review electrical designs for new data center builds, expansions and major infrastructure upgrades across EMEA.\nOwn HV and MV design inputs from utility point of connection through substations, transformers, switchgear and downstream distribution.\nProduce and review design criteria, single-line diagrams, load schedules, equipment specifications, protection philosophies and basis-of-design documentation.\nEvaluate power capacity, redundancy and distribution strategies for high-density AI environments, including N, N+1 and 2N configurations.\nReview technical submissions from design consultants, colocation partners, contractors and equipment vendors, identifying gaps, risks and practical alternatives.\nCoordinate electrical design with mechanical, controls, network, hardware, civil and architectural workstreams so the complete solution is buildable, maintainable and scalable.\nSupport equipment strategy and selection for transformers, MV and LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, busway and associated protection and control systems.\nLead or review power-system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash, earthing, harmonics and power-quality assessments.\nEnsure design compliance with applicable IEC and EN standards, local grid requirements, national regulations and Nebius engineering standards.\nSupport procurement, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, construction queries, commissioning and final handover to operations.\nCapture lessons learned and contribute to repeatable reference designs, specifications and technical playbooks for rapid EMEA deployment.\nWhat success looks like\nElectrical design risks are identified and resolved before they affect cost, programme or energisation.\nHV and MV systems meet capacity, resilience, safety and maintainability requirements from day one.\nConsultants and suppliers receive clear decisions, standards and technical direction.\nDesigns progress efficiently from concept to construction and through commissioning without loss of design intent.\nWhat you will bring\nA degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.\nTypically 5 or more years of electrical design experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, utilities or large industrial environments.\nStrong practical knowledge of HV and MV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, earthing and utility interconnection.\nExperience producing or reviewing construction-ready electrical design documentation and technical specifications.\nA solid understanding of UPS systems, generators, LV distribution and the interaction between facility power systems and high-density IT loads.\nWorking knowledge of relevant IEC and EN standards and the ability to interpret local codes and grid requirements across different EMEA markets.\nExperience with power-system analysis software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM or equivalent.\nStrong technical judgement, attention to detail and the ability to explain complex trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nFluent professional English and willingness to travel across EMEA.\nIt would be an advantage if you have\nExperience with hyperscale, neocloud, GPU-dense or liquid-cooled data center environments.\nExperience with EPMS, BMS or SCADA integration and electrical commissioning.\nKnowledge of long-lead electrical equipment strategy and vendor qualification.\nChartered Engineer status or an equivalent professional engineering certification.\nExperience with BIM, Revit or model-based multidisciplinary design coordination.\nBenefits & Perks:\nCompetitive compensation\nCareer growth and learning opportunities\nFlexibility and ownership\nCollaborative and innovative culture\nOpportunity to work on impactful AI projects\nInternational environment and talented teams\nWhat's it like to work at Nebius:\nFast moving - Bold thinking - Constant growth - Meaningful impact - Trust and real ownership - Opportunity to shape the future of AI \nEqual Opportunity Statement:\nNebius is an equal opportunity employer.
