Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.\nMechanical Design Engineer - Data Centres\nNebius\nWe’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to help shape the mechanical infrastructure supporting our data centre developments.\nYou’ll contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design and technical assessments through detailed design, construction and commissioning. Working alongside electrical engineers, IT infrastructure teams, external consultants and equipment suppliers, you’ll develop practical, scalable cooling solutions for high-density computing environments.\nThis is an opportunity to influence engineering decisions, help develop design standards and see your work carried through into operating facilities.\nWhat you’ll do\nDevelop and review mechanical designs for new data centres, expansions and upgrades.\nProduce and assess cooling calculations, equipment specifications, schematics, layouts and design documentation.\nEvaluate cooling systems, including chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, air-handling equipment and associated pipework.\nSupport the integration of liquid cooling, coordinating the interfaces between facility systems, coolant distribution units and IT equipment.\nAssess capacity, redundancy, maintainability and system performance under normal operation, maintenance and failure conditions.\nCoordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, architectural and controls teams, including airflow, containment and plant-space requirements.\nReview consultant designs, supplier proposals and contractor submissions, resolving technical queries during procurement and construction.\nSupport site assessments, installation reviews and commissioning to verify that systems meet the design requirements.\nIdentify opportunities to improve energy and water efficiency, reduce lifecycle costs and standardise designs across projects.\nWhat you’ll bring\nA qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent practical experience.\nExperience designing mechanical systems for data centres or other mission-critical facilities.\nStrong knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems, heat transfer, fluid distribution and equipment selection.\nAn understanding of resilient design and the operational requirements of facilities running continuously.\nExperience preparing or reviewing engineering calculations, technical specifications and construction documentation.\nFamiliarity with mechanical controls and Building Management System interfaces.\nThe ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, suppliers and colleagues across engineering disciplines.\nClear communication skills in English and willingness to travel to project sites when required.\nUseful additional experience\nDirect-to-chip liquid cooling or other cooling technologies for high-density AI and HPC environments.\nThermal modelling, airflow analysis or computational fluid dynamics.\nBIM coordination and tools such as Revit or AutoCAD.\nCommissioning, integrated systems testing or operational troubleshooting.\nProfessional engineering registration or relevant data centre qualifications.\nBenefits & Perks:\nCompetitive compensation\nCareer growth and learning opportunities\nFlexibility and ownership\nCollaborative and innovative culture\nOpportunity to work on impactful AI projects\nInternational environment and talented teams\nWhat's it like to work at Nebius:\nFast moving - Bold thinking - Constant growth - Meaningful impact - Trust and real ownership - Opportunity to shape the future of AI \nEqual Opportunity Statement:\nNebius is an equal opportunity employer.
