This will involve working with and across a wide range of stakeholder organisations. The post holder will ensure the programme is delivered in line with national standards, providing an excellent screening service with the ultimate aim of reducing new blindness due to diabetic retinopathy.\nMain responsibilities and opportunities:\nTo ensure the overall safe running of the DESP call/recall, management of exclusions & suspensions, administration and failsafe for the programme;\nTo ensure that all screening sessions are ran smoothly;\nTo oversee the Capacity planning for the programme, ensuring screening and grading capacity is achieved, within the timescales set;\nTo ensure the complete compliance of the workforce with education and training requirements;\nTo identify and manage issues, risks and incidents within the programme;\nTo ensure that the programme is compliant with internal Quality Assurance (QA) requirements; and\nTo monitor the local programme’s performance against HSE/NHS DESP Standards and ensure that the programme achieves all standards set.\nDue to the senior nature of the role within the organisation, the Programme Manager may be required to undertake such other duties commensurate with their role/experience in agreement with the post holder.\nThe Programme Manager has a shared responsibility for the programme, alongside the DESP Clinical Lead, for the achievement of service objectives, KPIs and the training and competency of the workforce\nAt least 3 years Management experience and knowledge within diabetic eye screening, healthcare or other people/patient focused services\nDegree level or equivalent professional experience\nEvidence of continued professional development (CPD)\nFull UK / Irish driving license and access to own vehicle\nA clear understanding of quality assurance processes and reporting requirements •Ability to analyse complex data and generate reports and action plans\nEffective leadership and management skills including performance management of teams and individuals\nExperience of developing and managing contracts and budget management\nExcellent organisational, administrative and project management skills\nAbility to work autonomously and be able to prioritise own workloads and priorities •Ability to work successfully across professional organisations and with a multitude of stakeholders\nExcellent communications skills with ability to influence and facilitate •Ability to maintain effectiveness under pressure\nThis role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Successful applicants will be required to provide full details of any previous cautions and convictions and undertake an enhanced disclosure with the Disclosure & Barring Service upon entry and thereafter every 3 years.\nKnowledge (Languages, IT skills etc.)\nEssential\nPrevious experience of working with computer applications - accurate data input \nDesirable\nProficiency in Irish language and or any other language. \nPersonal Skills:\nExcellent interpersonal and communications skills \n Additional:\nCandidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU.
