You will work closely with architects, engineering teams, and the wider cyber security function to ensure security is embedded by design.\nThis is a hands-on, design-led role. You will be involved in real delivery, real assurance, and real decision-making, from early threat modelling and risk assessment through to architecture assurance, accreditation support, and implementation guidance.\nThe role is well suited to someone who enjoys balancing pragmatic security design with governance, assurance, and stakeholder engagement in complex, regulated environments.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nProducing security architecture designs for internal systems and customer solutions, aligned with the overarching architecture framework.\nConducting threat modelling and risk assessments to identify and manage security risks in applications, platforms, and services.\nProducing security assurance documentation to support internal governance, customer assurance, and formal accreditation activities.\nWorking closely with Technical Architects and Enterprise Architects to ensure solutions are secure by default and proportionate to risk.\nEngaging with the wider cyber security team to assess the impact of emerging threats and vulnerabilities (CVEs) and advise on appropriate remediation.\nSupporting delivery teams with security advice and guidance, including hands-on engagement where needed.\nPresenting security designs and risk positions to the Technical Assurance Board and supporting assurance decision-making.\nContributing to bids and sales activities by providing security architecture input and responses to security questionnaires.\nSupporting the evaluation and controlled adoption of new security technologies.\nContinuously developing your skills and knowledge in line with evolving threats, technologies, and standards.\nWhy join us?\nWork on meaningful systems supporting critical public-sector services.\nBe part of a collaborative architecture practice spanning security, technical, and enterprise domains.\nBalance hands-on security design with governance and assurance.\nGrow your career in an environment that values pragmatism, professionalism, and continuous improvement.\nAbout you\nYou’re likely to be:\nA Security Architect or senior security engineer with strong design experience, or\nA technical specialist ready to step into a broader architecture and assurance role.\nYou’ll bring:\nPractical experience designing and assuring secure systems.\nStrong understanding of security principles, non-functional requirements, and risk management.\nConfidence engaging with stakeholders across engineering, architecture, and governance.\nExperience working in regulated or public-sector environments is a plus.\nFamiliarity with standards such as ISO 27001, NCSC Cyber Essentials, NIST, or CIS is desirable, but we value sound judgement and practical experience over certification alone.\n We pride ourselves in offering an excellent benefits package, including an above average pension scheme.
