This role will play a key part in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting finance processes and ensuring timely and accurate reporting for our Canadian and US operations. \nThis is a full-time, in-office position based in Burlington, Ontario. The salary range for this role is $70,000 – $110,000. Please note the salary information is general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\n\nResponsibilities:\nAssist with preparing accounts payable payments and prepare bank payments \nPrepare and Remit taxes including HST, PST, QST.\nProcess other miscellaneous cash transactions \nPrepare and process bank reconciliations \nSet-up Vendors and Customers\nLead the Accounts Payable including direct and indirect reports. \nManage and reconcile leases (contracts renewals) \nPrepare and post journal entries and adjustments, including accruals, reclassifications and reconciliations \nPrepaid reconciliation\nConstruction Deferred and Unbilled entries and reconciliation\nMonitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly\nFull Cycle accounting for interco accounts\nAssist with budgeting and forecasting processes\nSupport with closing month-end and year-end audit\nAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as required to meet business needs\nQualifications:\n3 - 5 years of accounting experience \nPost secondary education in finance, accounting or related field\nERP Accounts Payable and General Ledger experience (any experience using Acumatica is an asset)\nExperience with tax filings, compliance and accrual accounting\nIntermediate Microsoft Excel, such as Pivot Tables & Formulas (x-lookups, sum, if etc.)\n\nWhat you Bring to the Team:\nUnderstands all aspects of job - impact on business goals\nA self-starter who is highly effective working independently and within a team\nExceptional verbal and written communication skills\nStrong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail \nFlexibility, along with the ability to operate well under pressure\nWorks well in a fast-paced environment and easily adapts to change\nStrong organizational problem-solving skills with respect to multi-tasking and prioritization of responsibilities\nAbility to meet deadlines in a high-volume setting \nSupports teamwork environment with positive and professional attitude\nA positive, hands-on, “can-do” attitude\n\nWhy join Neelands? \nPaid Time Off – Vacation & Sick Days\nBenefits\nRRSP/DPSP\nCompetitive Salary\nPaid weekly\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nProfessional Development and Training\n\nOur hiring process includes AI screening for keywords and minimum qualifications.
