The role supports uninterrupted production, drives continuous improvement, and ensures safety and cost efficiency across engineering operations.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEngineering & Maintenance Management\n\n Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all equipment and utilities.\n\n Ensure high equipment uptime and reliability to support production targets.\n\n Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.\n\n Manage calibration and validation of critical equipment.\n\nUtilities & Facilities Management\n\n Oversee operation and maintenance of critical utilities (HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, water systems, power supply).\n\n Ensure utilities meet pharmaceutical standards (e.g., purified water, clean steam, environmental controls).\n\n Monitor energy consumption and drive cost optimization initiatives.\n\nGMP & Regulatory Compliance\n\n Ensure all engineering activities comply with National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) requirements and WHO GMP guidelines.\n\n Support audits (internal, regulatory, and client audits) and ensure timely closure of CAPAs.\n\n Maintain proper documentation (SOPs, logs, maintenance records).\n\nProjects & Continuous Improvement\n\n Lead capital projects including installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.\n\n Drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, downtime reduction, efficiency improvement).\n\n Support facility expansion and upgrades in line with business growth.\n\nHealth, Safety & Environment (HSE)\n\n Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture.\n\n Conduct risk assessments and enforce safe work practices.\n\n Ensure all engineering staff adhere to HSE policies.\n\nTeam Leadership & Development\n\n Lead, coach, and develop the engineering team.\n\n Drive accountability, discipline, and collaboration within the team.\n\n Manage workforce planning, performance evaluations, and training programs.\n\nBudget & Cost Control\n\n Develop and manage the engineering budget.\n\n Control maintenance costs while maintaining operational efficiency.\n\n Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.\n\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\n\n Equipment uptime and downtime reduction\n\n Maintenance compliance (planned vs. executed)\n\n Audit outcomes and regulatory compliance\n\n Utility efficiency and cost management\n\n Project delivery (on time and within budget)\n\n Safety performance (zero incidents target)\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\n Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).\n\n Minimum of 8–12 years’ experience in engineering/maintenance within a pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing environment.\n\n At least 3–5 years in a managerial role.\n\n Strong knowledge of GMP, validation, and regulatory
