The ideal candidate will develop robust dashboards and conduct detailed analyses that drive business insights, supporting Nelnet’s expanding financial initiatives. Your contributions will ensure data is well-organized, reliable, and accessible for key decision-making in reinsurance and broader financial strategies.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and maintain processes using Python and Snowflake to transform and validate data from various sources.\n\nBecome an expert in the finance data structures and needs.\n\nWorking with the business leadership team to define requirements.\n\nBuild, structure, and maintain data warehouse to support reporting and analytics needs.\n\nDesign and build analysis and dashboards supporting strategic insights for key stakeholders.\n\nCollaborate with finance and accounting teams to identify data needs and address data-related issues.\n\nProvide support for SQL Server, and Snowflake processes as needed.\n\nAt this time, we are prioritizing candidates located in Lincoln, NE, or the surrounding area who are able to work a hybrid schedule.\nAnnual compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.\nThis position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates living within 30 miles of an office location to work remotely for part of the week, while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence three days per week.\nPlease note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. To be considered, candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.\nEDUCATION:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.\nEXPERIENCE:\n3-5 years of experience in ETL processes or related field.\n1-2 years of experience in Data Analysis and reporting.\nCOMPETENCIES - SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:\nETL Expertise: Proficient in extracting, transforming, and loading data from flat files, Excel, and other sources into data warehouses, ensuring accuracy and consistency in data handling.\nFinance Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial concepts and data structures, enabling efficient data processing and insightful analysis specific to industry needs.\nData Modeling: Ability to design and structure data models for reporting and analysis, ensuring optimized performance and scalability of data pipelines.\nDashboard & Reporting Tools: Experienced in building dynamic dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, translating complex datasets into actionable insights.\nData Analysis: Skilled in performing in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, contributing to strategic decision-making.\nSQL & Python Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL for querying, and Python for automating data workflows, enhancing efficiency in data management and reporting.\nProblem Solving: Adept at identifying data discrepancies or inefficiencies in processes and implementing solutions to ensure data integrity and seamless operations.\nCollaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical teams to understand data needs and deliver results.\nOur benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, HSA and FSA, generous earned time off, 401K/student loan repayment, life insurance & AD&D insurance, employee assistance program, employee stock purchase program, tuition reimbursement, performance-based incentive pay, short- and long-term disability, and a robust wellness program.
