We are on the lookout for a Business Analyst to join our Engineering Team.
Role overview
As a Business Analyst, you’ll work closely with both business stakeholders and developers to make sure everyone is aligned on what needs to be built and why. You’ll gather and clarify requirements, turn business needs into clear documentation and models, and stay involved throughout development to make sure the final solution meets the original goals.
You’ll also look for gaps and opportunities to improve existing processes, help solve issues when business needs and technical limitations don’t match, and make sure the features we deliver bring real value to the business and its key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
- Requirements Management: Gather, clarify, validate, and maintain requirements throughout the development lifecycle, from initial analysis through implementation and deployment.
- Business & Process Modeling: Design object models, states, and transitions in close collaboration with developers to translate business needs into clear technical solutions.
- Project Documentation: Create and maintain key project artifacts, including Vision & Scope, SRS, Use Cases, and other relevant documentation.
- Development Oversight: Work closely with developers and stakeholders to track progress and ensure that solutions remain aligned with the initial business concepts and requirements.
- Iterative Development: Participate in the development process by providing feedback, refining requirements, and adapting them as new business needs emerge.
- Gap Analysis: Analyze existing processes and solutions to identify gaps and improvement opportunities, providing practical recommendations based on findings.
- Business Value: Ensure that delivered features address business objectives and contribute to measurable improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Stakeholder Support: Help stakeholders understand technical constraints and work with them to identify suitable alternative solutions when needed.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
- Requirements Analysis: Proven ability to gather, analyze, structure, and document business requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- UX Knowledge: Strong understanding of UX principles and best practices, with experience creating UI mockups and prototypes.
- Documentation: Experience creating and maintaining key project artifacts, including Vision & Scope documents and SRS.
- Modeling & Notations: Practical experience using UML, BPMN, and Data Flow diagrams to analyze and document business requirements.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex information and identify effective solutions.
- Agile Methodologies: Good understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, with experience working in Agile development teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Atlassian products, including Confluence and Jira.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate business and technical requirements to diverse stakeholders and facilitate effective collaboration between business and development teams.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Russian and English, both written and verbal. English proficiency at B2+ level or higher is required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a systematic approach to analyzing and structuring complex information.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Microservices: Understanding of microservice architecture principles and how services interact within a distributed system.
- API Knowledge: Familiarity with API specifications and the ability to describe system interactions and integrations in technical terms.
- Data Analysis: Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools for querying, validating, and interpreting data.
- Cloud Technologies: Basic understanding of cloud platforms and their role in supporting microservice-based ecosystems.
