Other duties may be assigned.\nReceiving and Warehousing (80% Time):\nUnload shipment from carrier and ensure that the shipment reconciles with proper paperwork.\nProcess received shipments according to written procedures.\nIdentify process improvements that will lead to greater efficiencies in the receiving operations\nProvide input to Supervisor on ways to improve the warehouse to be more economical to pick and ship from.\nMonitor inventory levels and advises Supervisor of low inventories of product.\nOrganize storage of products to facilitate efficient picking of product for shipping customer shipments.\nEnsure finished products are properly stored according to product label and inventory control procedures.\nMiscellaneous projects assigned by the Supervisor.\nWork with all employees to maintain a safe, clean and orderly-warehousing environment.\nPerform daily check list on all forklifts in warehouse.\nAssist with physical inventory.\nShipping (20% Time):\nPull orders, screen for accuracy prior to pulling inventory.\nMust be able to operate scanning equipment proficiently.\nProficient with pulling small parcel and truck orders in a timely and economical fashion according to written procedure.\nManage shipping expenses to minimize packaging costs while ensuring good customer presentation.\nShipping clerks are responsible for pulling packaging slip and placing with pulled inventory prior to quality check.\nIdentify process improvements that will lead to greater efficiencies in the shipping operations.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of 2 years forklift experience required.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nAbility to interface with management regarding duties and future development of department.\nMinimal experience with shipping and operating a forklift.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret common shipping reports and regulatory documents regarding shipping. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to lower-level management.\nMATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS\nAbility to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and averaging.\nSome experience with UPS World Ship online with the ability to learn more.\nREASONING ABILITY\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
