Together, we will become the world's leading cancer reference laboratory.\n\nPosition Summary\nThe Client Collections Specialist II manages client-bill cash collection activities across an assigned accounts receivable portfolio. The role follows up on outstanding balances, resolves payment barriers and account discrepancies, secures payment commitments, supports accurate cash application, and delivers timely client service while meeting cash, aging, and compliance objectives.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nManage an assigned portfolio of client-billed accounts receivable and prioritize collection activities based on balance, age, risk, and payment history.\n\nContact clients through approved channels to obtain payment status, secure payment commitments, and resolve overdue balances.\n\nReview aging reports, invoices, statements, account notes, contracts, and payment history prior to collection outreach.\n\nIdentify invoice disputes, missing documentation, pricing questions, purchase-order issues, unapplied cash, and other barriers to payment.\n\nCoordinate with Cash Application, Billing, Sales, Client Services, Contracting, and other teams to resolve account discrepancies.\n\nDocument collection contacts, client responses, payment commitments, disputes, and next actions accurately and promptly in designated systems.\n\nMonitor payment commitments and follow up immediately on missed or partial payments.\n\nProvide invoice copies, statements, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation needed to facilitate payment.\n\nResearch unidentified or misapplied payments and assist in their resolution.\n\nEscalate high-risk, delinquent, disputed, or unresponsive accounts according to departmental procedures.\n\nSupport client account reviews and communicate clear payment expectations and resolution plans.\n\nAnalyze portfolio trends and report collection status, payment risk, disputes, and projected cash flow to management.\n\nMeet established cash collection, aging reduction, productivity, documentation, and follow-up goals.\n\nContribute to month-end collection activities and timely resolution of accounts affecting cash performance.\n\nProvide professional, solutions-oriented client service while maintaining appropriate collection urgency.\n\nAssist with peer training, account review, quality checks, and process improvement initiatives.\n\nMaintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and applicable collection requirements.\n\nPerform additional collection, account reconciliation, reporting, and special-project responsibilities as assigned.\n\nSupport portfolio coverage and priority collection campaigns as business needs require.\n\nParticipate in client meetings focused on payment resolution, account reconciliation, or collection process improvement as needed.\n\nExperience, Education and Qualifications\n\nAssociate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience required.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of related experience in client collections, accounts receivable, billing, credit, reimbursement, or the healthcare industry.\n\nExperience managing an aging portfolio and conducting business-to-business collection follow-up preferred.\n\nLaboratory, diagnostic, or healthcare billing experience desired.\n\nDemonstrated ability to balance payment recovery, account resolution, and professional client relationships.\n\nStrong client service, negotiation, follow-up, and conflict-resolution skills.\n\nWorking knowledge of accounts receivable, aging analysis, invoicing, cash application, credits, adjustments, write-offs, and payment reconciliation.\n\nAbility to interpret account history, identify payment barriers, and develop appropriate collection actions.\n\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, commitments, and escalations.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and relevant billing or collection systems.\n\nClear and professional verbal and written communication skills with clients and internal stakeholders.\n\nAbility to prepare account summaries, collection status reports, correspondence, and supporting documentation.\n\nStrong analytical judgment and attention to detail when researching balances, reconciling accounts, and recommending next steps.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a goal-driven environment.\n\nTravel Required\nAs applicable;
