This role is embedded in a cross-functional environment that includes Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering.\nThe Quality Engineer serves as the primary quality interface to manufacturing operations, ensuring products and processes meet defined requirements for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on driving product and process quality, supporting production in real time, and ensuring robust quality systems are in place and followed.\nA key responsibility of this position includes participation in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, where the Quality Engineer evaluates non-conforming material, ensures proper disposition, and drives root cause and corrective actions. This role requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to resolve quality issues efficiently.\nWhy This Role Matters\nShop Floor Quality Support\nProvide direct day-to-day quality engineering support to manufacturing operations\nEnsure compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards\nSupport production readiness and execution to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets\nIdentify and escalate quality risks impacting production performance\nPartner with Manufacturing Engineering and Production to ensure processes are capable and controlled\nNon-Conforming Material & MRB Participation\nServe as a Quality Engineering representative in Material Review Board (MRB) activities\nEvaluate non-conforming material and support disposition decisions in alignment with engineering and quality requirements\nEnsure proper documentation, traceability, and compliance of all dispositions\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering to resolve non-conformances\nLead and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) efforts for recurring issues\nQuality Planning & Assurance\nDevelop and maintain quality plans, control plans, and inspection strategies for production\nSupport First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, including review and approval of FAIRs (AS9102)\nDefine inspection methods and verification approaches, including metrology and tooling requirements\nEnsure quality requirements are effectively flowed down into manufacturing processes\nSupplier & Process Quality\nSupport supplier quality activities, including audits, assessments, and issue resolution\nInvestigate supplier-related non-conformances and drive corrective actions\nPerform product, process, and Quality Management System (QMS) audits\nEnsure compliance with AS9100 and other applicable regulatory and customer requirements\nContinuous Improvement & Analytics\nAnalyze quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities\nLead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and process variability\nApply quality tools and methodologies to improve process capability and performance\nSupport development of training and standardization of quality practices\nWhat You’ll Bring\nRequires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field\nRequires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment\nExperience in aerospace manufacturing, composites, or regulated industries preferred\nDemonstrated experience with quality systems (AS9100, AS9102, etc.)\nStrong understanding of RCCA methodologies (8D, CAPA, etc.)\nExperience with inspection planning and metrology systems (CMM, laser trackers, etc.)\nStrong ability to interpret engineering drawings with advanced GD&T application\nWhy Join Neon\nWork alongside elite engineering talent and innovators from across aerospace and tech.\nBuild the foundations of a digital-first aerospace company.\nWork at the cutting edge of model-based engineering and digital thread integration.\nShape Neon’s system safety discipline and grow into a senior leadership role as the company scales.\nCompetitive compensation - including equity participation, growth opportunities, and full benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k) designed to support you in and out of work\nThis is the expected compensation range for this role. Final compensation will be based on role scope, experience, skills, internal equity and location.
