This role is focused on providing safe and compliant access to critical telecoms infrastructure located within high-voltage transmission and distribution environments.\nWe are particularly interested in candidates who hold a current SSEN Category 3 (Cat 3a) Authorisation or equivalent utility substation authorisation and have experience operating safely within live electrical environments.\nThe Opportunity\nOur telecoms network forms part of the critical communications infrastructure supporting utility and enterprise customers across the UK. Many of these assets are located within operational substations and switching stations, making authorised access and an understanding of substation safety requirements essential.\nThis position offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of operational sites, supporting network maintenance, fault restoration, inspections and project delivery activities where substation access is a key requirement.\nEssential Requirements\nMandatory\nCurrent SSEN Certificate of Authorisation Category 3 (Cat 3a) or equivalent utility network authorisation.\nDemonstrable experience working within operational High Voltage substations and switching stations.\nStrong understanding of safe systems of work within electrical transmission and distribution environments.\nFull UK Driving Licence.\nAbility to work independently across multiple locations while maintaining the highest safety standards.\nDesired Experience\nPrevious work supporting telecoms, utilities, power or critical infrastructure networks.\nExperience working with National Grid, DNO or utility environments.\nKnowledge of substation access procedures, permit systems and site safety requirements.\nFirst Aid at Work qualification.\nAdditional utility or electrical safety authorisations.\nWhat We're Looking For\nThe successful candidate will be a safety-focused engineer who understands the responsibilities associated with working in critical infrastructure environments.
