That's the category we're defining, and it's a rare moment to help build it from the ground up.

We (Ex-Stripe, Google, Palantir, Uber) have raised $7.5M from Floodgate (Lyft, X, Twitch) and The General Partnership, and demand is growing fast. We're hiring our first brand hire to build the product every couple will trust with their most important decisions.

The role

This role involves owning the narrative of couples and money, establishing Neptune as the brand everyone thinks of when they're building a life together.

You will lead Neptune's owned, earned, and experiential brand presence-spanning content, social, PR, and community events. As our first brand hire, you will work directly with the founders to shape our identity.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative, extremely organized and has great instinct. Someone who starts with craft, taste, and storytelling, and can translate those into a cohesive brand strategy that moves real business metrics.

What you'll own

• Brand: Define what Neptune stands for, how we sound, and the point of view we bring to money and marriage. Nothing in this category is premium yet. Make us premium.

• Creative: Own creative delivery across organic social, content, email and lifecycle, and the website, in every format it takes: short and long-form video, static, carousels, essays, and guides. Concept, shoot, write, edit, publish, and respond. This is hands-on, not a calendar to delegate.

• Press: Own earned media. Build the storylines that make reporters call us, and manage the agency help you bring in.

• Word of mouth and events: Make Neptune worth talking about. Referrals, gifts, dinners or workshops that delight our couples.

• Measurement: You are data-driven and capable of tracking brand impact in both the short and long term. Define what brand health means here, track it, and change course based on what you learn.

What success looks like: We publish consistently in a voice nobody else in this category owns, our organic audience grows every month, and when someone gets engaged, their friend says "you should use Neptune!"

We should talk if you're

• Someone who has done this before: You have taken a brand or an account from unknown to known, ideally with 5+ years in brand, organic social, content, or editorial at a startup.

• A creator: You have shot it, written it, cut it, and/or posted it yourself and are comfortable on camera or good at directing someone who is.

• A clear communicator: You are clear at communicating both verbal and written content.

• Excited about the subject: Money, relationships, family and the awkward parts of all three.

• Obsessed with numbers: You have proven ability to track impact over the short and long term. You can set a goal for brand work and tell the difference between a number that matters vs. a vanity metric.

• Enthusiastic about AI: You use AI daily to research, write, and make things, and you chase what's new to evolve your workflows.

Compensation and benefits

• $140,000 to $185,000 base salary
• Founding-level early-stage equity
