We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.\nAs drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.\nWhat you will be doing\nWe build drones at scale. We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to own how they actually get made. You will decide how each assembly is built: the fixture, the joint, the torque spec, the test that proves it good. Then you'll prove those decisions out with data before they carry production volume.\nThis is a floor-first role. You'll spend your days next to the line, not above it. When a station goes down, you're the first call. When a defect keeps coming back, you root-cause it and kill it for good. When the design fights the build, you push manufacturability back upstream into the design until it doesn't fight back. You are the first point of contact for engineering decisions on hardware moving through your processes, and the last line of defense between a bad process and a thousand bad units.\nIf you'd rather solve problems at the station with a caliper and a laptop than watch them from a conference room, this is your role.\nResponsibilities\nLine Support & Triage\nFirst technical responder for line-down and slowdown events; diagnose, contain, restore\nTroubleshoot tooling, fixtures, jigs, and station equipment issues\nDistinguish process problems from training problems from design problems, and drive fixes accordingly\nSupport production supervisors with real-time technical calls during the shift\nProcess Ownership\nOwn work instructions and standard work for assigned stations; keep them accurate and current\nDrive cycle time reduction, line balancing, and station-level improvements with production\nDesign, build, and iterate fixtures and tooling to improve repeatability and speed\nValidate and release process changes through proper change control (ECR/ECO)\nQualify new and changed processes against clear acceptance criteria: first article, capability studies\nRoot Cause Analysis\nLead root cause analysis on recurring defects and escapes; drive corrective actions to verified closure\nPartner with quality on FPY improvement, defect containment, and disposition\nTranslate failure data into process or tooling fixes, not just retraining\nNew Product & Scaling\nSupport NPI builds: process planning, station setup, first article support\nFeed producibility and DFM input back to design engineering before release\nData & KPIs\nDefine and own station-level KPIs (yield, cycle time, downtime, scrap); use them to prioritize and drive measurable improvement\nYou should have the following\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a related engineering field\n2+ years as a manufacturing, process, or industrial engineer in a hardware production environment\nHands-on line support experience; comfortable being the first call when things break\nProven root cause skills with examples of corrective actions driven to verified closure\nStrong floor presence; communicates clearly with technicians, executives, and product engineers\nNice to Have\nFixture and tooling design experience, with CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar)\nElectronics or electromechanical assembly experience\nExperience taking a product from NPI through DVT/PVT into sustained production\nHigh-mix, high-cadence manufacturing where the design changes regularly\nFamiliarity with factory automation, machine vision, robotics, or custom equipment\nWorking knowledge of lean fundamentals: cycle & takt time, line balancing, 5S\nExperience creating and maintaining work orders, process plans, and mBOMs in MES/ERP\nUnderstanding of how to create a PFMEA and turn it into a quality verification plan\nStartup or high-growth background; experience scaling output or standing up new lines\nUS Salary Range\n$123,500-$215,00 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.\nWe’re an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all applicants without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4867,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Military Drones","Defense Manufacturing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-11T02:14:23Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":22,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.511,"p_room":0.44,"age_days":60,"expected_fill_days":56,"reasons":["conf:3","stale_co","velocity","win:tail","crowd:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-11-01T06:10:25Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/neros-manufacturing-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/neros-manufacturing-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-01T23:36:05Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":35967,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-02T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":678223},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=678223"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fneros-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fneros-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fneros-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/neros-manufacturing-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fneros-manufacturing-engineer"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":697548}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"neros.tech","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":697548},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
