We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.\nAs drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.\nWhat you will be doing\nAs a Principal Connectivity Systems Engineer, you will define the technical future of Neros connectivity systems. You will own the architecture that connects our FPV drones, ground stations, repeaters, radios, antennas, embedded systems, video links, command-and-control links, and platform-level electrical constraints into a coherent system that works in the field. This is a principal-level architecture role for someone who can move between communications theory, RF hardware, embedded systems, electrical design, platform integration, test strategy, and product requirements without losing sight of what can be built at startup speed.\nResponsibilities\nOwn end-to-end connectivity system architecture for current and future FPV drone platforms, ground systems, and supporting infrastructure\nTranslate long-term platform requirements into wireless system architectures, development roadmaps, technical proposals, and executable engineering plans\nMake architecture-level tradeoffs across RF performance, link budget, waveform/modulation, antennas, embedded compute, power, thermal, latency, reliability, manufacturability, and schedule\nDefine the future of Neros video, command-and-control, telemetry, repeater, mesh, point-to-point, and ground-to-air connectivity capabilities\nServe as the connectivity team's technical authority in cross-disciplinary architecture reviews, platform decisions, proposal reviews, and feasibility assessments\nPartner with RF design, electrical, embedded software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, test, product, and leadership teams to turn ambiguous requirements into working systems\nIdentify technical risks, infeasible approaches, and missing requirements early enough to change direction quickly, and mentor principal, senior, and staff engineers\nYou should have the following\nMasters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field\n12+ years of experience designing, architecting, integrating, or leading complex wireless, RF, embedded, electrical, or communications systems\nDeep understanding of wireless communication systems: link budgets, modulation, coding, receiver sensitivity, interference, coexistence, propagation, latency, throughput, reliability, and system-level RF tradeoffs\nExperience architecting systems that combine RF hardware, antennas, embedded software, electrical interfaces, power constraints, and real-world operating requirements\nDemonstrated ability to lead ambiguous, architecture-level technical decisions across multiple engineering disciplines\nStrong electrical engineering fundamentals: power, signal integrity, digital interfaces, mixed-signal systems, sensors, compute, and embedded hardware constraints\nStrong embedded systems judgment: firmware/software architecture, hardware-software interfaces, real-time constraints, telemetry, diagnostics, and field-update considerations\nExperience taking wireless or embedded hardware systems from concept through prototype, validation, field test, production readiness, or deployment\nAbility to write clear technical proposals, architecture documents, trade studies, and development plans for technical and executive audiences\nTrack record of mentoring senior technical contributors and influencing engineering direction without relying only on organizational authority\nNice to have\nDrone or UAV connectivity: Experience architecting wireless systems for drones, FPV platforms, robotics, aircraft, or mobile ground systems\nVideo and C2 links: Experience with low-latency video links, command-and-control links, telemetry links, mesh radios, point-to-point radios, or contested RF environments\nFull-stack radio systems: Experience spanning RF front ends, antennas, digital baseband, embedded software, networking, and system-level performance\nFielded hardware: Experience shipping or deploying wireless hardware that had to work outside the lab in harsh, mobile, or high-consequence environments\nPrincipal-level technical leadership / defense context: Setting architecture for multiple teams, mentoring principal engineers, or acting as final technical reviewer; EW-aware communications, resilient links, tactical radios, or high-reliability systems\nUS Salary Range\n$255,000 - $357,000 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.\nWe’re an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all applicants without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5566,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":12,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"master","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Military","Defense Manufacturing","Supply Chain"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-01T22:10:13Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":63,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.632,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":59,"reasons":["conf:1","stale_co","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-05T05:45:15Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":357000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/neros-principal-connectivity-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/neros-principal-connectivity-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-06T00:43:09Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":920,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4080,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-07T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":678223},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=678223"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fneros-principal-connectivity-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fneros-principal-connectivity-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fneros-principal-connectivity-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/neros-principal-connectivity-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fneros-principal-connectivity-engineer"}]}
