To scale in relation to our exploding demand, the Sr. Supplier Development Engineer will work directly with our Director of Supply Chain in ramping up our production and building the team to do so. This Supplier Engineer will drive supplier development, NPI builds, production ramp-up, ongoing quality improvement, and capacity scaling. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of aerial systems with the desire and capability to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas to help keep soldiers off the battlefield. \nResponsibilities\nDesign for Manufacturing (DFM) Expertise: Strong ability to analyze engineering design specifications and provide detailed feedback on manufacturability, ensuring smooth transition from design to high-volume production\nProcess Flow Development: Skilled in breaking down complex engineering design and testing specifications into structured process flows, identifying critical control points, risks, and optimization opportunities\nCapacity Planning & Analysis: Expert in conducting detailed capacity assessments at supplier sites, including equipment throughput, labor efficiency, and line balancing, to ensure supply readiness for NPI and mass production ramps\nCollaborate with design engineers to gain an in-depth knowledge piece part, assembly, and/or sub-system design intent\nWork with procurement team to strategically source parts matched with supplier competencies by reviewing and assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems\nFunction as the lead liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support\nCreate and define supplier technical and quality requirements based on customer and program requirements and expectations for NPI and production phases\nCreate and implement a production part approval process (PPAP) with selected suppliers to enable rate production\nDevelop and approve process controls to control critical characteristics\nAnalyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and pinpoint systemic performance gaps and root causes to drive supplier improvement plans\nMay require up to 50% travel\nYou should have the following\nBachelor’s degree in an engineering or a STEM discipline\n5+ years of manufacturing, process or supply chain engineering experience\n5+ years of experience with PCB assembly , mechanical assemblies or electronic assemblies manufacturing\nProven track record of taking ownership, successfully negotiating preferred pricing and driving results\nKnowledge of supplier quality processes (production part approval process, advanced product quality planning, first article inspection reports, etc.)\nExperience with quality systems (ISO 9000/TS/AS9100/NADCAP)\nKnowledge of statistical techniques and methods, e.g., design of experiments, Six Sigma, etc.\nUS Salary Range\n$154,000 - $215,500 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
