Our team is mainly responsible for implementation of Neste HSE requirements in investment projects and ensuring processes, tools, competence and resources for the management of project HSE related issues for the whole project lifecycle. In addition we are responsible for facilitating and managing the lifecycle HAZOPs and LOPAs for our Renewable Products refineries in Singapore and Rotterdam. We also support work on development of process hazard analysis (PHA) methods, tools and processes in cooperation with the Group Operational & Process Safety team and contribute to the update of corporate HSE standards and work instructions.\nIn this position, your primary focus will be strengthening local site capabilities across Life Cycle Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs). You will plan, facilitate, and chair operational HAZOPs, LOPAs, and Fire Hazard Analyses (FHAs) for our Singapore Renewable Products refinery. You will also co-support the local investment project portfolio, ensuring corporate HSE guidelines, legislation, fireproofing practices, and safety-by-design standards are seamlessly integrated across project lifecycles. You will be deeply integrated with the local IPEG Engineering team, site operations, and refinery process safety engineers in Singapore, while connecting into our broader global Project HSE network in Finland and Rotterdam to exchange best practices. Collaboration is the key, and we believe in flexible, smart ways of working.\nMore about the job\nYour role in our team / in creating a sustainable future\nLife Cycle PHA Facilitation: Primary focus to plan, organize, chair, and document formal Life Cycle PHAs, re-validations, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and Fire Hazard Analyses (FHAs) for operational units, refinery systems, and local investment projects.\n\nHSE Compliance & Governance: Partner with the local Senior Project Process Safety Engineer to ensure local legislation and corporate HSE standards are seamlessly implemented across all investment project phases.\n\nTechnical Consultancy: Consult and guide local project engineering teams, refinery operations, and key stakeholders on process safety, explosion protection, fire hazards, and fireproofing practices.\n\nHSE Project Leadership: Lead, track, and report HSE activities for investment projects; provide training and actively communicate process safety expectations to project organizations and stakeholders.\n\nBest Practice Development: Develop and refine best practices for process safety and process hazard analysis methodologies in cooperation with local site stakeholders and the Group Operational & Process Safety team\n\nKeys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role\nExperience: 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in Process Safety, Process Engineering, or HSE within high-hazard chemical, refining, petrochemical, or EPC project environments.\nEducation: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n PHA Involvement: Practical, hands-on experience in organizing, scribing, co-facilitating, or executing Process Hazard Analyses (HAZOP, LOPA, FHA, HAZID).\n Risk & LOPA Understanding: Solid working knowledge of Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), SIL classification, and Independent Protection Layers (IPLs).\n Standards & Regulations: Familiarity with process safety design standards (e.g., API, NFPA) and a working understanding of Singapore MHI (Major Hazard Installation) regulations / Safety Case concepts.\nProject Support: Ability to guide local project teams on process safety, fire hazards, and safety-by-design standards across the investment lifecycle.\nLanguages: Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.\nOther strengths we value\nTraining or certification in HAZOP/LOPA facilitation (or eagerness to complete certified facilitator training).\nExperience using specialized scribing software (e.g., PHA-Pro) or consequence modeling tools (e.g., PHAST).\nExperience working across local site operations, project engineering teams, and contractor networks.\nLet’s get you started\nWe look forward to receiving your CV and application (with a salary request) by 9 October 2026\nWe will do our best to contact you within 2 weeks after the application time has ended.
