Your collective experiences at Purina will far surpass your achievements in growing category sales as we work to innovate the pet care industry.\nThe Petco Category Manager is a strategic business leader responsible for driving category growth, strengthening retailer partnerships, and uncovering opportunities that create value to drive category growth. This role requires a highly driven self-starter who combines analytical expertise, business acumen, and exceptional storytelling skills to influence decisions at all levels, including senior retailer and executive leadership.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and execute category growth strategies that drive sales, share, and profitability.\nIdentify emerging trends, shopper insights, and marketplace opportunities to unlock growth.\nTranslate complex data into compelling recommendations and executive-level business stories.\nLead category reviews, strategic planning discussions, and retailer presentations.\nBuild trusted relationships with Petco stakeholders and cross-functional partners.\nInfluence assortment, pricing, promotion, merchandising, and space decisions through fact-based recommendations.\nCollaborate across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Modular Planning, and Analytics to deliver business results.\nDemonstrate ownership, initiative, and accountability while leading through influence.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in category development, account management or business analytics OR High School diploma with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in category development, account management or business analytics\nOther\nRegular travel to Petco headquarters and retailer meetings (~50%).\nTravel to Purina headquarters in St. Louis approximately every other month\nDon’t meet all the qualifications listed under “other”?
