You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, identify the causes of equipment failures and implement practical improvements that reduce unplanned stops, improve reliability and support efficient production.\nYour Impact\nYou will combine hands-on mechanical maintenance with structured problem-solving to keep equipment operating safely and effectively. Working with Engineering and Production colleagues, you will help prevent repeat failures, improve asset performance and build technical capability across the site.\nMaintenance delivery: Complete planned, scheduled and reactive maintenance to support equipment availability and minimise disruption to production.\nFault finding: Use a logical, evidence-based approach to diagnose mechanical and technical faults and restore equipment safely.\nReliability improvement: Analyse breakdowns, identify recurring issues and contribute to corrective actions that improve long-term asset performance.\nMaintenance systems: Use SAP Computerised Maintenance Management System processes to record work, report breakdowns and manage spare-parts activity accurately.\nContinuous improvement: Support equipment upgrades, project activity and Total Productive Maintenance tools that reduce losses and improve performance.\nCapability building: Share technical knowledge and provide practical coaching to help colleagues use and maintain equipment effectively.\nYour Ingredients for Success\nYou will bring practical mechanical engineering capability, a safety-focused approach and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nEssential\nQualification: Mechanical Engineering NVQ Level 3, or an equivalent Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification or apprenticeship. Qualification evidence will be required.\nMechanical maintenance: Experience of planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, including fault finding on production or industrial equipment.\nTechnical knowledge: Practical knowledge of mechanical components and systems such as pneumatics, belts, cams, bearings and chains.\nProblem-solving: Ability to investigate equipment failures, identify causes and contribute to effective corrective actions.\nWays of working: Ability to work safely, organise priorities and communicate clearly with Engineering and Production colleagues.\nDesirable\nMulti-skilled capability: Ideally, you will be a multi-skilled engineer with additional electrical maintenance knowledge or experience.\nManufacturing environment: Experience within fast-moving consumer goods or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nSystems and methods: Exposure to SAP Plant Maintenance or a similar maintenance management system, together with knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance methodology.\nCoaching: Experience of sharing technical knowledge, coaching colleagues or supporting practical skills development.\nWhat You Need to Know\nClosing date: Tuesday 03/11/2026.\nWe will be considering candidates as they apply and may close the advert early should sufficient applications be received.
