Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations, and underground sewer system. In the absence of the waste water treatment operator another waste water treatment operator will serve as backup.\nSchedule:\nSunday, Monday, Tuesday 7a-7:30p, Wednesday 7a-1p\nOR\nWednesday 1p-7p, Thursday 7a-7:30p, Friday 7a-7:30p, Saturday 7a-7:30p\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nPerform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and storm water and sludge management.\nAssist with the installation and inspection of new sewer lines and services.\nPerform the installation, maintenance, and repair of the physical plant and pump stations and all of their components.\nDuring the Chief Operator’s absence, act as the Department’s representative to the public.\nAssist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery.\nOn call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and pump station(s).\nConduct the necessary weekend checks of the treatment plant on a rotating basis.\nPerform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.\nMaintain open communications with the Chief Operator regarding the treatment process and pump stations operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems. \nHighly trained in the HACCP program in order to identify all crucial instrumentation and control system with utility/processing systems. Ensuring a high standard of food safety.\nSupport for the SQF 2000 System.\nRequirements:\nMust hold an active Wastewater Operator License, or Industrial Wastewater Operator License from the state of GA or reciprocal licensing state.\nBe able to perform and document various tests required by State and Federal agencies for the operation of a wastewater treatment plant.\nPerform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic checks of pump stations.\nHave a thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment.\nHave a basic knowledge of State and Federal rules governing wastewater discharges and worker’s safety.\nAbility to lift 50 lbs and the ability to kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, and carry.\nAbility to work in a warm and dusty, perhaps cool, and noisy environment.\nEducation and/or Experience:\n3+ years of experience operating and maintaining wastewater equipment.\nHigh School graduate or equivalent required.\nPrevious maintenance and/or manufacturing experience a plus.\nDemonstrate communication, organization, and listening skills.\nExcellent attention to detail, neatness, and follow through.\nAbility to organize and handle multiple tasks.\nPay: $28.08 - $30.00 per hour\nBonus Eligibility: Yes\nThe pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
