The Senior Revenue Accountant is also responsible for performing research and analysis on issues that arise as part of the monthly close process, as well as documenting contract reviews and preparing technical analysis of complex revenue transactions. Candidate will also be responsible for posting manual revenue and deferred entries and reconcile G/L balances. Ensure system posted revenue using systems reflect the expected revenue position. Be responsible for external and internal audit queries. Work to prepare disclosure requirements as needed for the reporting team.\n**This is a hybrid role in our RTP, NC office. Relocation and travel to meet hybrid requirements are not budgeted for this role.**\nResponsibilities\nApply expert knowledge of ASC 606 to analyze complex revenue contracts and transactions, ensuring compliance with the standard's guidelines and requirements.\nPerform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including preparation of revenue schedules, account reconciliations, roll forwards, journal entries, and other deliverables within the close package.\nCollaborate with NetApp’s finance team to develop and maintain revenue recognition policies, ensuring they align with ASC 606 and best accounting practices.\nResearch and provide technical accounting guidance related to new products.\nPerform independent technical accounting research and document conclusions in memoranda\nCollaborate with the internal audit team to ensure compliance with SOX controls related to revenue accounting and provide support during SOX testing and documentation.\nConduct regular reviews and assessments of revenue contracts, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions to ensure accurate revenue recognition.\nPerform revenue forecasting and variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to management based on your analysis.\nAssist with external audits and act as a point of contact for revenue-related inquiries from auditors.\nAssist manager with the revenue analysis over Enterprise License Agreements (ELA’s) and perform monthly journal entries for these ELAs. Additionally, assist with the monthly reconciliation and disclose process.\nPerform data analytics to study the month-over-month changes and fluctuations between actuals and forecast.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is strongly preferred.\nLocated in the Raleigh-Duram area of the United States to support the hybrid work environment.\nMinimum of 5 years experience in revenue accounting, with a strong emphasis on ASC 606. CPA is not required but a plus.\nProficient in use of Microsoft Excel\nProven experience in revenue recognition for complex contracts and transactions, preferably in a technology or software industry.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contractual terms and apply accounting guidelines.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to non-financial stakeholders.\nExperience with Oracle and RevPro systems is a plus.\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nCompensation:\nThe target salary range for this position is 100,300 - 118,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
