The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, takes ownership from design through production, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.\nResponsibilities\nOwn the functional, performance and scalability of the data plane rich with data management. \nOwn and drive features through the entire software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support. \nOperate cloud-native services leveraging containers, microservices, distributed systems principles, and modern CI/CD practices. \nDrive engineering excellence through automated testing, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. \nCollaborate across engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences. \nRepresent the team in release and semester planning forums, ensuring engineering perspectives are reflected in organization-level planning and commitment decisions. \nParticipate in architecture discussions and design reviews to help drive technical excellence and engineering best practices. \nGuide the team in troubleshooting complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability, scalability, and operational improvements. \nWork closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to translate customer and business requirements into high-quality technical solutions. \nEffectively communicate technical concepts, design tradeoffs, and project status to stakeholders across the organization. \nContribute to the technical growth of the team through coaching and mentorship opportunities. \nTrack team objectives, delivery plans, risks, budgets, and resource allocation. \nDrive hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development. \nDevelop succession plans for critical roles and build a pipeline of future technical and people leaders. \nFoster a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement. \nEncourage adoption of AI tools and practices that improve team productivity. \nJob Requirements\n8-12 years of relevant industry experience. \n3+ years of people management or leadership experience. \nExperience working with backend core engineering teams. \nWorking knowledge of storage platforms such as SAN/NAS. \nWorking knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. \nFamiliarity with development tools such as Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, etc. \nExperience collaborating across Product Management, Engineering, and Support teams. \nAbility to influence without authority and build relationships across technical communities. \nAbility to contribute to architecture and system design and understand modern software development workflows. \nStrong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. \nStrong aptitude for learning new technologies. \nPossess excellent written and verbal communication skills. \nCreative and analytical approach to problem solving. \nKnowledge of AI tools and practical AI use cases. \nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
