Since being founded in 2013, Instaclustr has grown strongly, with over 300 customers worldwide, and over 35,000 nodes under management.\nOur Technical Operations Engineers are the frontline team keeping our large fleet of cloud-hosted open-source clusters up and running. Your work will ensure the security, reliability and performance of world-class systems and databases. You will collaborate with our customer’s technical teams, from globally recognised companies in the gaming, banking and logistics industry sectors, ranging from big multinationals to emerging start-ups.\nJob Requirements\nThe Role\nAs TechOps Engineer, you will be part of our TechOps team who maintain and support our large fleet of cloud-hosted Apache Kafka, OpenSearch, Apache Cassandra & other open-source technology clusters. Every day will raise interesting and challenging problems ranging across many different areas such as fleet management, customer support, operations and incident response. You will be working with other teams, including Product Management, Development Teams and Customer Success to help drive and shape the way we support our customers.\nDuties and Activities:\nProvide expert operational support to our nodes running in the cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), using technologies such as Linux (CoreOS, Ubuntu), Docker, and languages including Java, Python and bash.\nResponding to customer queries and incidents, diagnosing and solving complex technical issues by liaising with customer’s engineers on Apache Kafka and OpenSearch and other supported technologies and maintain a high standard of customer communication.\nInvestigate issues and apply standard change and maintenance procedures to optimise the performance and stability of production systems.\nUndertake complex cluster operations such as migrations, upgrades and maintenance on our fleet.\nDevelop and continually improve our suite of internal automation tools, applications, documentation, processes and procedures.\nBe a proactive, reliable and supportive member of the TechOps team, and participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster.\nSkills/Qualifications:\nWe require you to have the right skills and maintain professional qualifications for the role covering:\nAt least 3 years work experience.\nStrong knowledge and experience with Linux and be comfortable working from the command line.
