This advanced individual contributor position requires strong technical depth, end-to-end ownership of features and modules, and the ability to work with limited supervision while influencing the design, development, and maintenance of complex functionality.\nJob Requirements\n8-12 years of relevant industry experience, with a proven track record of owning and delivering features for complex subsystems.\nDesign and develop innovative features for NetApp’s storage operating system.\nParticipate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including design, development, debugging, testing, and customer support.\nDemonstrate a solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, multithreading, and system internals.\nUnderstand file systems, data paths, replication, and high-availability systems.\nHave experience with storage technologies, preferably SAN protocols such as FC, iSCSI, and NVMe-oF.\n Possess strong proficiency in C, C++, and Unix/Linux system programming.\nExhibit excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across remote teams.\nAnalyze failures, debug complex issues across software layers, and drive root-cause resolution.\nBe familiar with CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and modern development practices.\nMentor junior engineers and help drive engineering best practices within the team.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).\nDemonstrated ability to work independently on moderately to highly complex problems and drive effective solutions. \nThe target salary range for this position is 170,000 - 253,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
