The role will also play a key part in supporting a wider supplier service transition and migration, providing the technical expertise needed to understand the existing environment, manage technical dependencies and ensure a smooth transition into the new managed service arrangements.\nKey responsibilities include:\nDatabase Support: Managing, maintaining and troubleshooting the Caché/IRIS databases, ensuring the live service remains stable, secure and performant.\nCaché to IRIS Migration: Leading the technical migration from Caché to IRIS, helping us understand the existing setup, identify any risks and manage the transition with minimal disruption.\nReleases and Patching: Supporting NBSS releases, database updates and patches across multiple sites, ensuring changes are deployed safely and consistently.\nApplication Compatibility: Working closely with the VB6 development and Crystal Reports teams to ensure the applications continue to work effectively with the underlying database environment\nTechnical Support and Knowledge Transfer: Providing specialist technical input during the transition, helping us build our understanding of the existing platform and establish the knowledge needed to support it going forward.\nEssential\nStrong hands-on experience with InterSystems Caché and/or IRIS, including database administration, configuration, troubleshooting, security settings and the Management Portal.\nSQL Querying and Reporting: Strong hands-on SQL experience, with the ability to query and analyse data, understand and troubleshoot existing reports, and develop custom SQL queries and reports to support operational and business requirements.\nExperience working with Windows Server environments, ideally 2016, 2019 and 2022.\nUnderstanding of enterprise infrastructure, including RAID storage and backup solutions such as Veritas.\nExperience supporting multi-site deployments, ideally within a live, business-critical service.\nAbility to investigate and resolve technical issues independently, particularly within legacy environments.\nDesirable\nExperience with Visual Basic 6 (VB6) and its integration with Caché/IRIS databases.\nFamiliarity with Crystal Reports and associated database dependencies.\nPrevious involvement in a Caché to IRIS migration.\nExperience working within the NHS or other complex, business-critical environments.\nKnowledge of InterSystems ObjectScript.\n We pride ourselves on our entrepreneurial spirit and our capacity for doing things differently.
