Come be a part of what’s next.\nThe Team\nXD Design Engineering is a small team of engineers with a big mandate: to develop, maintain, and innovate the Design Platform central to Netflix’s product development lifecycle. Our goal is to improve product development velocity without compromising on fidelityand to increase efficiency of the design/engineering handoff. Our portfolio includes API services, web apps, and Figma Plugins, serving a diverse range of cross-functional partners, from product designers and project managers to software engineers.\nThe Role\nIn this high-impact role, you’ll work on a portfolio of productivity tools and automations designed to accelerate the product design lifecycle at Netflix. You’ll collaborate closely with system designers and engineers, to drive innovation around the distribution and adoption of the Design System. You'll lead and champion projects and effectively communicate their impact to partner teams. You will also gather input from stakeholders, identifying opportunities to help set a long-term technical strategy that continuously evolves the design tooling portfolio to ensure it remains best-in-class.\nResponsibilities\nContributing, maintaining, and expanding criticaldesign component libraries and capabilities supporting hundreds of internal users (React)\n\nImplementing AI solutions,when appropriate,that measurably accelerateproduct design workflows\n\nBe the engineering leadon projects, working from ideation to implementation to rollout\n\nConducting internal user-researchto gather insights to inform prioritizationand feature development\n\nCompleting medium to large features independentlywithout guidance\n\nBe the primary point of contactfor support requestsrelated to the Design System portfolio\n\nWork with designers and engineers across other teams to maintainthe integrity and reliabilityof the Design System portfolio.\n\nParticipate in on-callrotationto continue to meet our critical SLAs\n\nConducting design and code reviews\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\n7+ yearsof professional experience designing, building, and shipping software\n\nExperience with single page applicationsarchitecture, patterns, and design\n\nExperience fetching data from GraphQL and REST APIs\n\nExperience with client-side instrumentationand observability\n\nProven ability to leadprojects and clearly and effectivelycommunicatewith partners\n\nStrong project scopingand project managementskills\n\nAble to design, architect, debug, test, and create well-documented code\n\nProficient in JavaScript/TypeScript,React, and Node.js\n\nWhat Sets You Apart...\nYou’re known for your excellent communication skills (written and verbal)\n\nYou have an ownership mentality in all the things you build and are comfortable with identifying opportunitiesand driving forward-looking technical roadmaps\n\nYou take a thoughtful, practical approach to problem-solving that considers tradeoffs and avoids over-engineering\n\nYou’re motivatedby the scope and impact to influence decisions that shape the future of design workflows\n\nYou’re data drivenand lean on both qualitative and quantitative datato drive your decision making\n\nYou have a strong intuition for user experience flows\n\nExpert at managing web applicationswith complex state management\n\nCurrent/former professional experience working with Figma Plugin\n\nBonus if you’ve contributed to open-sourceprojects\n\nGenerally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $388,000.00 - $558,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
